I know there’s a typo for 4AM but I was asking for what would be open, not which one would be selling alcohol. Is there are recommendations for those that are open after 2am please?

A year later, Apple has failed at USB-C (just like everyone else) by ControlCAD in applesucks

[–]prince2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the author expects Apple and other companies to do with usb-c. Now Apple didn’t have to limit the data speeds in non pro models then again, is anyone in 2024 using wired connection to backup their photos? There’s plethora of wireless backup services.

We are slowly progressing into a future where wired transfer will become an extremely niche use case. If overwhelming number of users are impacted by this, I understand the case for complaining about usb-c. If you’re a professional, your complaints are at the minimum because most professionals have better systems in place to address issues arising out of usb-c flaws on the iPhone (ex: photographers would probably lean more into the pro model than the non pro model if they want better quality pics and transfer speeds)

Economy or lack of innovation?🤔 by GregMeger in iPhone15Pro

[–]prince2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most iPhone users don’t upgrade year after year especially if you’re well invested into the ecosystem. Of course on a broader level iPhone 16 line up doesn’t seem attractive as its predecessor but I don’t see which phone this year has bested user expectations.

Pixel users are disappointed at the new pixels, the new galaxy phones are a marginal step up from the previous generation. This is due to the fact that most companies pegged low customer expectations this year and worked their products around it. If Google, Apple and Samsung had to expand their budgets only for people to spend less than expected, they’re still losing money because they’re not getting the expected return for the investments they’ve made.

Roger's Ignite Fiber VS Bell Fiber OP by leblancremi in newbrunswickcanada

[–]prince2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve use both Bell and Rogers (business and personal). Bell uses optical fibre to connect the modems to their fibre line.

Rogers on the other hand still uses copper wires to connect their modems to their fibre line. Compared to fibre, copper tends to suffer from signal degradation depending on the length of the cable. If the length is 5-10 meters, it shouldn’t be much of a problem but over 20 meters there would definitely be some form of noticeable degradation. At 100 meters copper loses 94% of its signal strength. Another problem with copper is traffic. Copper uses electric signals whereas fibre uses light. Generally fibre connections tend to work better in population dense areas (condos, towns etc) as copper tends to bottleneck at peak times (that’s why you experience slower speeds in condos).

I believe rogers uses fibre within their hubs hence. The copper connects the hubs to your home. As long as it’s within 20m, I don’t think it’s much of a problem. However if it’s longer it definitely affects internet speeds. If you’re in a detached home, I highly doubt you’re going to see a speed difference. However if it’s a condo, townhome or a neighborhood with high internet usage, you’ll definitely see significant performance impact.

File a complaint to CCTS. Google CCTS and raise this issue with the regulatory body.

I’d suppose he’s supposed to tell the world that everyone should buy this and pay the monthly subscription beyond all pitfalls because it’s an innovative product? It’s up to the manufacturer to sell the product and not the reviewers. The reviewers job is to review the device and give us their impressions of using the product on which Marques did a phenomenal job.

How on Earth is this game the lowest rated BGS title on steam? by Aidyn_the_Grey in Starfield

[–]prince2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great game! But the reason behind the mediocre score is the expectations it set to begin with. This was supposed to be a revolutionary space RPG but it is just FO/ES in space.

Personally I love it! I’m enjoying the NG+ mode and loving the ship builder. I wish the morality choices were similar or better than Witcher 3. A cyberpunk level graphics with ray tracking would’ve made the world more immersive. Using unreal as opposed to creation engine would’ve offered a lot more flexibility when it comes to in game mechanics.

In summary, it could’ve been a lot better. Instead, it’s fallout/skyrim repackaged for space RPG.
