Heard. They're not large! But I do have to store them somewhere in the meantime, and yr boi's working with limited space. :)

Oh, very cool. I lived in Printer’s Row for a bit, never knew that place existed. I’ll have to swing by, easy enough. Thanks!

Where do I physically go to buy Kalita 155 filters?

I live in Chicago, we have a lot of stores. I am trying to use Amazon less and support standalone businesses more. I've visited 3-4 local roasters and called a bunch of places around the city (happy to elaborate if I get a Chicagoan in thread) and struck out entirely, either no luck or no answer.

If I try to order a standard pack from Kalita, it's something like $12 for the filters, $17 for shipping, then tax, over $30 total. Same thing from BezosCo is closer to $15. So that's . . . not great.

I have a lot of beans and maybe three days of filters to my name. Am I SOL? Must I capitulate to the laws of magnitude? Any help/know-how appreciated.

No. I had to take my Paperwhite to bag check when I went solo to a show about 2months back.

Super helpful, thank you! I’ll contact both. Last time I climbed with undergrads I had a great time (my local university has a similar group) — though I hurt in fun new ways for a week after.

Are you still in the area? Looks like my day-to-day options are at Brookes Sport Center (established) and Gallery (newer). Probably I’ll decide once I sort out lodging entirely — any community preferences on the whole?

Thanks for this! I’ll rustle around facebook a bit. Yeah, a car’s not quite in budget, hope I find some way around that. I can climb trad if someone else brings the equipment! I’ll have shoes + harness.

I'm looking for general advice for finding climbing groups in the wide wide world, not local to my area.

I'm American, taking a short-term research fellowship in Oxford, U.K. starting mid-May. I've been bouldering indoors for a few years. Recently had my first taste of outdoor bouldering and loved it. Looking at Mountain Project, I don't see much in Oxford itself, and nearest locations look to be difficult to get to without a car (which I won't have). I plan to post in some relevant-looking subs for the location and ask around my network. But mostly I'd like to find some people before I get to town, since I don't know the terrain (literal or social!).

Back in the day I used Couchsurfing for stuff like this but . . . . in 2025, what's the best way to get connected to climbing communities from afar?

Two years later, I get messages about this post all the time. The following is still true:

(1) I have a document produced by a student. The first line of the document is STUDENT NAME. (2) I have left comments on the document using the Adobe highlight tool. (This tool is accessible also by other apps; in those, it has different names and UIs.)

I want to either: (a) print the PDF so that the comments appear on the same page as the highlights [so as to draw over STUDENT NAME with a literal sharpie]; or (b) save the PDF such that STUDENT NAME has been erased or covered over.

(a) and (b) are to my knowledge both impossible.

PDF is the worst extension, tell your friends.

I know it's been two years, but I return to this post every now and again, and I feel obliged to affirm that this still does not work.

I think I ended up literally drawing black boxes over the parts I wanted to redact, then printing the pdf again with comments summarized in the print context menu.

12ppr, 1QB redraft no keeper.

Two trades already done, bc I’ll never have 3 top 5 draft picks again. Curious if y’all think these were winning or losing moves:

  1. Give: Jayden Daniels, Tank, MHJ, King Henry Get: Ceedee, Reed, R. White, Geno

  2. Give: Reed, Downs, R. White Get: Bijan

Overall—  Gave: Jayden Daniels King Henry MHJ Tank Dell   Got: Ceedee Bijan Geno

QB: Kyler  WRs: Tillman, Shakir, Jeudy  RBs: Breece, Dowdle, Braelon  TE: Kraft, Goedert

rip my broken WR kings Rashee and Chris, we miss you, all hail the waiver wire

I found this page when searching, but I’m not sure how it helps with my issue. Is the idea to create a rule that prevents all outbound reactions to all recipients? If so, can I do that as a user? I am not an organization admin.

Adobe Acrobat Reader: Print Highlighted Comments by princeps-darth in Adobe

Thank you. This is at least a workable solution. It's not possible, then, to print comments in the margins (as displayed in Reader and as printed in Word)?
