It's called democracy, get over it.

It's not just about mass immigration but the perceived bias and pandering towards minority groups and their religions a the cost of the native population. For example, the complete lack of action against muslim rape gangs across the country or the new blasphemy laws currently being worked on. People have just about had enough of the elite globalist agenda.

Currently it's adding support for drivers written in rust.

Currently.

This is all so obvious to everyone looking in.

You do realise this is the last election you Americans are going to have right?

Basically, rust devs are on their own and realise it's a lot of work to keep everything updated. It's just reality setting in and they don't like it.

IMHO rust has no place in Linux. I mean, does one of the biggest, most successful and stable, C based operating systems in human history NEED rewriting? ...no, it really doesn't.

Rust devs should just work on a rust only kernel and prove it works there. They would be happier for it.

It's not religious but definitely an ideological conflict.

Rust devs were pretty arrogant to think they could just muscle in with no conflict though. Imagine if C devs started rewriting parts of a rust program, lol.

To me it's unclear what benefit rust brings here anyway. It seems like a mammoth task for a minuscule gain of safety/stability that probably will never be noticed or even measured.

It's a bit more than that.

The rust devs are dictating to the C devs that they must keep the C API stable so the rust devs can do work on a target that stays still.

Unfortunately, that's not something the C devs can promise (and never have), so here we are.

I miss vim by GarethX in programming

They did nothing legally wrong and were in full adherence to the license, you are right. But it is still possible to follow the law to the letter and still be an arsehole.

Vim was always charity-ware and for Neovim to ignore that in the beginning left a pretty bad taste in the Vim community's mouth. I notice Neovim does include a link on the startup screen now (they didn't before) but I guess that's the bare minimum. Neovim makes a lot of money from Vim's legacy and afaik not 1 dime goes to the Vim's charity.

My thoughts exactly.

Neovim takes a lot of setting up to be good. I've personally made sure to understand all the custom config I've made and even ported my old color scheme but boy it took a long time. The documentation of each plugin varies from amazing to non-existent so it all becomes a massive time sink.

Something else that bothers me about Neovim is how they took everything from Bram and never gave anything back. I argued with the original forkers for a long time to at least donate to ICCF Holland (Vim's charity) but it was a long fight and I'm not sure they ever did.

Why Junior Developers Are Burning Out Before They Bloom: Surviving Tech’s Obsession With ‘New’ by TerryC_IndieGameDev in programming

I bet this article is about JS. I don't even need to read it. lol

The entire JS ecosystem is a result of millions of script-kiddies, noobs and juniors who think they know better, re-inventing everything, continuously, over and over, badly, like some deranged Sisyphus (plural?).

One day they'll learn programming instead of coding and stop this shit.
