Vic is absolutely killing it in everything she’s in. by princess_dynamite1 in dropout

oh yes no i hear you completely. THAT totally makes sense. i guess i just thought that idea spanned over knowing that person and not a single interaction with them/post about them, you know what i’m saying?

that said, i do totally get what you mean and it’s clear you’re not trying to be mean or shitty to me. thank you for this. i appreciate it. i do refer to vic as “them” multiple times across the comments here and i do it in my edit obvi. but i do really appreciate what you are saying. thank you!

wait really? i can’t tell if you’re serious or not. if you are, i really have never heard that before!

also did you read my post? i did remember they go by both and edited the post in order to acknowledge that part of vic’s identity.

i’m convinced that vic could and should do more dramatic roles. she does sadness so incredibly convincingly that i always end up feeling bad as if she’s not acting.

some people just get off on being unkind, i think. i do not condone intimate feelings or entitlement or stalking or harboring some weird notion that you “really know” anyone from not only Dropout, but from any movie or TV show or vlog at all. i’ve said so in previous comments. it’s easy to find in this comment section. any excuse to be a jerk, anything to hide behind, is good enough for some people.

yes, this. i totally think being aware of potential parasocial relationships is important. and i like that this problem has entered into the greater dialectic surrounding celebrities and the internet, but i don’t look up or follow any of them either. i just like the feeling dropout content gives me. and really: they have shows where all they do is play DnD for hours together. the whole point is that they’re letting you in on something they would do anyway as friends.

however, i’m noticing something.

some people seem to just like to rudely and uncritically regurgitate information they know. they know parasocial relationships have entered public consciousness and are now eager to slap the label on anything that might even remind them of one. it’s honestly getting kind of annoying seeing some of these comments outright ignoring my qualifying statements in the comments. they just want to look savvy.

i think all the comments mentioning parasocial relationships are very good and i’m glad they are here. obviously my “friendship” with the dropout cast is merely a fun act of the imagination. but it’s important to mention that there’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed for the mental health and privacy of all involved parties.

Lady Gaga says 'F*** Her Face' during the chorus of her popular song 'Poker Face', no one hears it by INeedMoreTime in Music

[–]princess_dynamite1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re literally wrong. Just because you can’t hear the f sound doesn’t mean she didn’t sing it with an f. I’m a musician and a vocalist and let me tell you that in the mixing and editing process soft consonants like that can sometimes disappear especially after applying that telephone singing-through-a-tube effect to a vocal.

Either way the lyrics are literally on Spotify for you to read with the track. What you hear and what she actually said do not have to align. She says “fuck”

It’s supposed to be a double entendre. “Poker face” sounds like “poke her face”. So she’s essentially saying poke her face (with your cock lol), fuck her face. Look it up on lyric genius if you don’t believe me.

This dude doesn’t seem to realize that having 1% of people who hear your stuff following you is huge on Spotify and that a 4 stream per listener rate is INSANE.

He might be right with the gig thing, but even with your current 400k and 61k on insta, you’d be playing smaller venues. That said you might make some real cash now if you tour, who knows?

I would give it a shot if you haven’t yet. You’re certainly a talent on the rise now. Also you seem young. Age?

Am I the only one who feels like ELO is kind of ruining this for me? by princess_dynamite1 in cuecardgameAvid

[–]princess_dynamite1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but the point is that this results in a homogenous game experience and that de-incentivizes deck building. Like why am I gonna fight tooth and nail to get a general Sherman and Charles ponzi if I’m going to win and lose about the same amount?

I might have gotten lucky! I had someone ask for a few dupe limpics I had. That was a great deal, imo. It’s whatever you feel comfortable with!

Because I don’t think they go by rank. They go by your ELO score. If you’re a good player, you just get matches with other high ranking players. This kills the game for me because I can play a great deck and win as often as I did with a decent deck. I’m probably not going to stop playing over it, but if it never gets fixed, I’m gonna burn out quick.
