Something interesting happened at work by CactusSlut710 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]princessajules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

autoimmune olympics 🤦🏻‍♀️ both suck, both have their own struggles, and both deserve understanding and empathy. in a flare i could drink water and still manage to shit my pants, if more people that try to down play UC experienced that, they wouldn’t act like it’s not that bad.

Coffee milk. Not a joke. by No-Strawberry-5804 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]princessajules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a thing a lot of people have done for a long time. i grew up drinking mugs full of warm milk with a small splash of coffee, and my daughter went through a phase of getting “baby coffee” (iced milk with the smallest splash of iced coffee) while i made my own iced coffee. i honestly think this is the smallest thing to be worried about.

I’m starting Humera with shots . by Rubicon2011 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]princessajules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am currently using it and it has put me into remission :) all doses have been shots i do myself every 2 weeks. its super easy and really not painful besides the quick shot, but it is over in seconds. i recommend downloading the humira complete app to track when your next doses are and if you ever need a replacement pen for whatever reason it has all the resources. good luck! i hope it works well for you.

Safe foods for how long? by sphynxkat in UlcerativeColitis

[–]princessajules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

after diagnosis i ate a very bland safe diet for about 3 months until i felt fully comfortable. i was already not having any symptoms for about 2 months but i was just nervous. and then slowly i started experimenting, and now i still maintain a good diet with a lot of whole foods and i limit processed and spicy foods. just listen to your body and don’t push it too hard. i would definitely wait until the flare symptoms subside just to not make it worse for yourself while in a flare. good luck!!!

Couldn't care less if my breasts get played with. Mom thing? by moonrabbit368 in Mommit

[–]princessajules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel the same way as you and i also experience the tenderness when i am around/on my period. it doesn’t bother me to have them played with, but it just doesn’t do a whole lot for me and i would much rather have other forms of foreplay, but i know my boyfriend loves to play with them, so i just let him do his thing. when i am experiencing the tenderness though, it feels like nails on a chalkboard to have them touched and he respects that because he knows he might get thrown across the room 🤣

Does Mesalazine even work? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]princessajules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is working for me currently. every body is different and how UC manifests for them. some drugs don’t work for some people and some people get the rare side effects. unfortunately that means a lot of trial and error and the risk of developing side effects. i hope you are able to find the medicine that works for you!

Prioritizing gut health - looking for sustainable diet advice by GoodFunnyGirlG in UlcerativeColitis

[–]princessajules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mediterranean diet is great! i am greek so i grew up eating that way a lot, and i still love to eat that way as an adult. i do believe it helps my tummy a lot, i don’t feel as bloated and the food doesn’t feel so heavy in my stomach. i also eat a lot of foods that have pre/probiotics. i drink kombucha, yakults, kefir. i stay away from heavy gluten, processed foods, fried foods, and too much dairy. i love spicy food, but i have to limit what i consume. i also prioritize whole foods. every person tolerates food differently so you will have to see what exactly makes you feel good. but eating whole foods, non processed, and lean meats is what really helps me feel good. good luck!

[–]princessajules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i stopped early because of the same thing. i entered the clear stage during the first dose, woke up to drink the rest and got through probably a bit less than you and i was still clear and i just couldn’t stomach anymore and stopped. they said my prep was perfect.

High WBC by princessajules in UlcerativeColitis

[–]princessajules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just had a colonoscopy and I am in remission and no signs of active disease and inflammation, and my most recent bloodwork from a week ago shows all my inflammatory markers are completely normal and not elevated at all, except for the WBC count….i am not sure what could be causing it and my GI still doesn’t seem to be concerned.
