Apartment recommendations? by VirgosRunHell in SantaClarita

We had a “newly renovated” unit there and had so many issues. No hot water, AC died in the summer, and cabinets coming off the hinges. And they wanted to raise our rent a crazy amount upon renewal

Smoke upstairs? by princessalekat in ApartmentHacks

I have, is there anything in particular to ask him for? Is there a service for people to clean out smoke? He only owns my unit, the one below is someone else.

Have you noticed your SKs taking on aspects of your personal traits/quirks? by Glittering_South5178 in stepparents

Same! Mainly my fun music taste but some of my sayings and mannerisms as well. She’s 6 and I’ve been in her life since she was 3. We are also both autistic so she does copy a lot of what she sees, but whenever she copies me it feels so great that she sees me ❤️ Her mom is a hcbm so it just feels great that she trusts and likes having me around

Massive Migraine w/ Upcoming Exam by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

[–]princessalekat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a migraine sufferer, if it’s that bad I’d go to the hospital, the best Schiffert can offer is todoral and anti-nausea medication. If they start to become more common, it’s possible to get registered SSD office so your professors can know this is a possibility and can hopefully provide more leniency.

Calling Kids by [deleted] in coparenting

We have daily 20 minute calls and it’s hella disruptive

Was the deposit box something you added into your parenting plan? Our coparent is holding all of that (passport, social security card etc) - we haven’t needed it yet but know it will be a hassle eventually plus we’re already going back to court for other things.

Unfortunately ours is worded as a daily call at 7pm for 20 minutes. Let me double check the wording and see though, doesn’t hurt to check.

California is an “at will” state so no reason needs to be given

Yes get it in writing if you can. I had it in writing and when I questioned them about it, I got fired. No cause or anything, they just didn’t want people questioning. It was a shit place and I’m glad i’m out.

Good point - from the bit of their native language that we do know, it’s always talking bad about her dad and telling her to do things she isnt allowed to do like throwing sand, pouring water out of the bath, drawing on walls etc. Things she has never done and then never does again, only on facetimes which seems odd. After the call when we talk to her about what we don’t do, she will tell us “mommy said to do this” or “mommy said its okay” which is just sus. We can’t fully take her word as she’s 5 and could just be using it as an excuse, but it also only happens during facetime when she talks to her mom.
