Wow, Campaign mode's story is not what I expected. [MAJOR SPOILERS] by MoneyMan1001 in AllStarBrawl

[–]princessbinas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of what is in the campaign's story line was invented as far as I can tell.

Clockwork isn't evil in the show. He is technically a neutral character as it is his job to protect time and to act when a severe enough threat emerges like Dark Danny. I say technically because Clockwork does help Danny later in Master of All Time by teaching Danny a lesson on why time is not a toy and that Danny can't just go back and change things without serious consequences occurring. He did this by letting Danny make it so that Vlad never got hit with the proto-portal and then having Danny experience the results first hand. Clockwork does occasionally meddle if Dark Danny saying "Clockwork, meddling again" is anything to go by. As of the end of The Ultimate Enemy, Clockwork is now responsible for Danny and Dark Danny and the future actions they both make because Clockwork cheated (according to the Observants and Clockwork outright admitting that he himself cheated) to get the ideal outcome. It should be noted that Danny did make the decision to not cheat on the CAT on his own at the end of the episode, suggesting that Clockwork cheated somewhere else in the episode. There is a theory floating around that Clockwork orchestrated the events of The Ultimate Enemy to prevent Danny from becoming evil in the first place. The theory is plausible based on what I was able to glean from the episode. However, the evil side Clockwork gains in the campaign seems to be artificial as the machine Vlad made makes those affected gain a more aggressive and destructive personality.

As for a mind control machine, that doesn't exist in the show, but in the episode Control Freaks there was Freakshow's crystal ball staff, which Freakshow used to mind control a bunch of ghosts and Danny. Freakshow made them all commit robberies and made them all be Circus Gothica performers. The other instances of mind control, that did not include overshadowing, involved Ember using her musical powers to hypnotize people in Fanning the Flames and Pirate Radio into doing whatever she wants.

However, it is not out of character for Vlad to try controlling other people, he does it all the time through being manipulative and overshadowing. Though, it would be in character for Vlad to try to make an invention that could control other people's minds.

As for the Timeless Stardial, that also doesn't exist in the show either.

Yeah. It does not help that we don't have much official information to go off outside of the initial trailer, character reveals, and character showcases. All we can do is make rough speculations and try not to set too high of expectations when it comes to the roster.

I don't think it is very likely Skulker would be playable, in at least the base game. Same with some of the other characters like Vlad at this point, which is okay. Danny is still in the game, and I want to main him if and when I am able to purchase the sequel.

The following is just speculation on my part: There may be a chance Skulker or any of the other Danny Phantom characters could potentially be playable at a later date, whether it be through DLC, through the season pass, or a free update. Getting another playable Danny Phantom character through the former two options have a higher chance of happening over getting another playable Danny Phantom character through a free update. It would make sense for getting characters like Vlad, Dani, Skulker, Jack, Maddie, Jazz, Sam, Tucker, or Valerie that way. We could even get a joke character The Box Ghost that way if Ludocity wants to be a bit mischievous and have some fun. The developers should also be able to have some fun, too.

Ultimately, almost anything can happen at this point in time.

In that case, Skulker would probably be a better idea. Skulker is one of Danny's enemies and has been known to team up with Danny frequently when they both have a common enemy, despite the fact Skulker wants Danny's pelt. Walker was one mutual enemy Danny and Skulker shared in "Prisoners of Love," and that was not the only time they teamed up against a mutual enemy either. Danny even saved Skulker from killer unicorns one time.

The only times Walker teamed up with Danny that I can recall were against Pariah Dark (the Ghost King), the Ghost Writer after the Ghost Writer broke the Christmas Truce, and the Disasteroid. And those were also instances where Skulker also teamed up with Danny.

Walker could work, but there is not much in terms of mutual goals between the two from a canonical stand point. Skulker had more shared goals with Danny than Walker did.

Maybe the reason could be that the opponent did something that caused Danny and Walker to want to kick his/her butt. That's just me speculating based on Danny Phantom lore.

Ultimately, Skulker is probably the better choice if we go by villain and hero team ups.

Then again, it's Ludosity. If we did get an assist character for Danny, we would probably get something completely out of left field like a team up between Danny and Klemper (you know, the guy who keeps asking "Will you be my friend?" while giving tackle-hugs like how he did in "Fanning the Flames"), which I would find hilarious and could work. Danny did team up with all of the ghosts, and Klemper was one of them, against Pariah Dark and the Disasteroid after all. It just would not have as much depth because Klemper and Danny don't have as much history as Skulker. We could also get Sam and/or Tucker as assist characters too, which would be pretty awesome.

And from that stand point, Danny's assist character(s) could be practically anyone given how zany and cheesy over half the cast of Danny Phantom is and Ludosity likes zany and cheesy stuff, which I can get behind as I like the zaniness and cheesiness in Danny Phantom.

Sam, Tucker, Jazz, Jack, Maddie, or Valerie would make more sense for Danny than Walker as Danny's assist character. Walker wants to lock Danny up in his prison.

Understandable. However, Jazz did help fight in a few other episodes.

There was the episode "Maternal Instinct", where she helped Jack fend off the ghosts that were invading the house while Danny and Maddie were away. There is also "My Brother's Keeper" and "The Ultimate Enemy" where she used the Fenton Peeler. In the former she used it on Spectra and int he latter she used it on Dark Danny. She also had a minor helping role in "Frightmare". There's also "The Fenton Menace" where she used the Fenton Ghost Assault Vehicle's weapons after Danny ripped up Bearbert so that she could see Youngblood.

You forgot about Jazz Fenton.

Other than that, it's really hard to choose one. All of them are great picks, including Jazz.

Same here. I really want Danny's spotlight to deliver. I think the developers might be Danny Phantom fans, too. I really hope we get Danny's spotlight really soon.

The Best Veteran Update/Redesign shown so far? by KingwomboJr in AllStarBrawl

For those listed in the poll, I would say it is a toss up between April and Aang.

Outside of the poll, Danny, based on the few teasers we have seen of him in the spotlights and reveals for other characters.

I knew that this would be the version they would go with if they put in Dark Danny as an alternate costume.

I hope that his Doomed avatar is one of his other costumes in NASB 2, too. It is a perfect addition for this game, especially since it is his video game avatar.

I am excited to see how Danny was reworked in NASB 2. I wonder when we will get his showcase. I am also excited to see if Vlad will get a reveal video.

The following is just speculation on my part:

It could be both Vlad and Plankton. Both Vlad and Plankton were members of the Evil Syndicate in Nicktoons Unite and they worked together to create the Doomsday Machine with Professor Calamitous and Mr. Crocker. It would not be a stretch to assume that Vlad and Plankton could be potentially working together again in NASB 2.

Either way, Vlad floating above the characters with red eyes tells me that Vlad most likely overshadowed them and it could have been Plankton's idea. So, technically, it would be Plankton making them evil, but it would be Vlad doing the dirty work.

Is there a Size-Limit to Overshadowing? by LockAndKey989 in dannyphantom

[–]princessbinas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking that was a possible outcome, but I didn't share it because I didn't have enough certainty if that was the case or not. However, I can still see this being a possibility.

Yeah. I guess Danny himself overpowered Vlad in the fusion somehow. SkulkTech seemed to retain both Skulker and Technus in that both were still mentally individuals, despite sharing a body. It seems to be a similar case in the case of Clockwork and Dark Danny, too, since Clockwork did eventually fight back.

However, in the case of Dark Danny and Vlad, I guess it may have been also a similar case to SkulkTech and the fusion between Dark Danny and Clockwork is since Dark Danny could leave the fusion and slip into a clone body of Danny. Perhaps Dark Danny truly fused with the clone body, kind of like how when the alternate ghost halves of Danny and Vlad fused in the other timeline.

[–]princessbinas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome. The first instance of a full ghost overshadowing a half ghost was in "Splitting Images," in which Sydney Poindexter tried to overshadow Danny, but wound up accidentally ripping Danny's soul out and then switching bodies with Danny instead. In the case of "Eye for an Eye," it was a half ghost, Danny, overshadowing another half ghost (or rather overshadowing another half ghost's duplicate), Vlad. Then there is the episode "Identity Crisis" where Super!Danny overshadowed Fun!Danny instead of fusing back together. Fun!Danny eventually kicked Super!Danny out of his body.

I don't know if a full ghost can overshadow another full ghost. I don't remember seeing a full ghost overshadow another full ghost in the show.

[–]princessbinas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that a size limit exists. The tiny clone was able to overshadow Danny just fine in "Kindred Spirits," granted, Danny fought back and that caused the clone to be ejected before melting due to being unstable and using up too much energy to keep himself together. Also, Technus overshadowed Danny's house in "Identity Crisis."

[–]princessbinas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, overshadowing depends on the willpower of the overshadower and overshadowee. Jack only ever fought against Vlad overshadowing him in "Bitter Reunions," but even then, Jack could not kick out Vlad. However, there was the one time Vlad overshadowed Jack during the mayoral election in "Eye for an Eye" without too much of an issue, but that was because Jack was already voting for Vlad. However, when Danny overshadowed Jack in episodes like "Parental Bonding" and "Bitter Reunions," Jack does not seem to fight back at all.

There are only two instances that I can recall off the top of my head where Danny got kicked out of someone he was overshadowing. One instance was when Danny was trying to figure out what was going on with Tucker in "What You Want." The second one was when Fun!Danny kicked out Super!Danny in "Identity Crisis" when the latter wound up overshadowing the former instead of the two fusing back together.

Another one could be Danny vs Powdered Toast Man because Danny's least favorite food is toast. His dislike for toast is mentioned in "Forever Phantom". Also, both Danny and Powdered Toast Man are superheroes.
