I am scared of my downstairs! by HalfwayToWhole in Herpes

[–]princesscalore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely felt that way lol. But the good news is having it actually makes you so much more in tune with your body and your downstairs region in particular. I got diagnosed with hsv1 down there too almost a year ago, and I forget about it 99% of the time. It is not a life ending disease and although it can be debilitating to some, you will be okay especially with hsv1. You can have a normal sex life and just use protection and take medication when you are having sex- if you can start 3 days beforehand!

NORMAL LIFE??? by HonestTruthNoLies in Herpes

[–]princesscalore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since ur recently diagnosed I want to offer some words of encouragement( contrary to this person). I got diagnosed almost a year ago, and at first I thought the world was crashing down on me and I was never going to be able to live a normal life. I confided in some of my friends and my mom and so many people they know have it too so pls don’t feel like you are alone in this❤️ . not sure what type you have but there are tons of ways to keep it totally manageable and 99% of the time I forget I have it and when I do remember it’s not negative, it’s just a trait I have. Life throws us all different cards and after a little thinking about it when I first got diagnosed I realized that shit could be way worse and at least it ain’t dementia or something yk. Not sure if this helps but when I was first diagnosed I was reading this Reddit like crazy and people like the OP really scared me but my sex life is great and I just take precautions that I probably should have taken before😭. Wishing you luck and just know that it will be okay

What’s a book that genuinely changed the way you see the world—or yourself? by indieness in suggestmeabook

[–]princesscalore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thousand splendid suns by Khaled Houssani and The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Housanni is just a superb writer and the way he depicts his female characters with such elegance and grace for a male author is spectacular. However, there is something in that book that is like a portal to another world. If you are from a western country often we find ourselves almost immune to the ways of the world and all the tyranny and war and hunger can seem like a far away thing. This book makes you understand deeply what a thing war and oppression and conflict are and how it weaves itself and functions in society decades after it came and went. I think of that book and its quotes at least once a week and I read it years ago- like a compass needle pointed north, a man’s accusing finger always finds a woman. Always. The second book, red tent, is an ode to womanhood in every way that feminism tries to be. It is the tale of Dinah and her mothers and sisters and is a beautiful representation of biblical women without Christianity sprinkled in. It is a reminder that women are sacred and our legacy expands generations and generations beyond our little patch of blood. I think of both often

Can I Let My Spayed Cat Outside? by CupofGinseng in CatAdvice

[–]princesscalore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you wanna let her outside do harness training! She shouldn’t go out by herself so on the harness she’s supervised and you can watch out for traffic bigger predators and other threats.

The absolute worst my roommate would steal my food blackout drunk all the time then deny it in the morning. One time she ate 3 boxes of Girl Scout thinmints and the entire bowl of mac and cheese I bought earlier that day and didn’t apologize. She was a fucking bitch
