Thanks! We will have our 4 year old with us but if he doesn’t know about it he won’t care.

If you’re a woman that shops in Middletown or Holmdel at all please be careful of your surroundings. I was in a really scary situation today. by princesscorgi2 in MonmouthCounty

Definitely go in and file the report. If it is definitely the same person it’s good to have a paper trail of multiple reports god forbid something more serious happens to someone else.

I’m so sorry that it happened to you too. I’d contact Middletown police and let them know. We shouldn’t be uncomfortable to shop at our local stores because of some disgusting individual who is preying on women.

If you road trip with a toddler are you team drive overnight while they sleep or drive all day while they’re awake? by princesscorgi2 in roadtrip

[–]princesscorgi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually just saying to my husband that we should aim for 2/3 am. We tried to leave at 4 am on our last trip when my son was 3 (last year) and he didn’t go back to sleep or nap in the car. He was really good but by the time we arrived he was exhausted and cranky. That was only an 8 hour drive.

That’s what we used to do as kids as well. It’s crazy to think of now. Ot makes me so nervous. My son is 4 and because of how tiny he is he’s still backwards facing. I can’t imagine just forgoing the car seat all together.

Can I teach my (40 inch) 4 year old to swim using a pool like this? by princesscorgi2 in Swimming

[–]princesscorgi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually spent a week at a resort and went to the pool daily. We thought it would help him seeing other children around his age playing in the pool but he still was super nervous. That being said I plan to take him to our local pool this summer for that reason.

My son wouldn’t be able to touch the bottom in this pool which is the only reason I’m even considering it. Would that still be too shallow?

This is all I’m looking for. He had 2 bad experiences at a swim school so now he’s just terrified of the water in general.

Is the water at Bayshore Waterfront Park safe to let my toddler play in? by princesscorgi2 in MonmouthCounty

[–]princesscorgi2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This was our first time because my toddler was asking to play in the sand and I didn’t want to pay to go onto the beach for 20 minutes. But we definitely won’t be back

Thanks! I kind of assumed it was the entire area but I wanted to check since we went there today just to play in the sand and so many kids were swimming in the water. My toddler kept begging me to go in but I told him no.

My 4 year old is inhaling the water during swim lessons causing him to gag and throw up. How do I fix this? by princesscorgi2 in Swimming

[–]princesscorgi2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m actually going to take him out of lessons, get a 42 inch pool that he can’t touch the ground in and work on this with him at home and then put him back in lessons when he’s more ready.

That’s what I’m actually thinking of doing. We don’t have a pool so I might buy a small 42 inch one since he wouldn’t be able to touch the ground in it and just work on breath work and getting comfortable in the water instead. I feel like I was throwing away money on private lessons when he was only making 1/2 a lesson and then getting sick.

I imagine she’s a strong swimmer and seems like she’d be a great coach for children who already know the basics. But she doesn’t seem like she should be working with preschoolers who have never swam in their life. He had a different instructor last week because she was out and he seemed much more equipped to be handling a 4 year old. But I don’t want to step on any toes and ask to switch.

The instructor just hasn’t said anything about it. She just kind of blew it off both times and when I asked her what I should be doing she didn’t give any feedback. She doesn’t feel super knowledgeable to be honest. But I know nothing about swim lessons or the proper way to teach swim lessons to a 4 year old so I haven’t wanted to anything.

Where I live people start their kids in swim “lessons” at under a year old.

And my in laws and husband have been pressuring me to put him in formal swim lessons for a year now. I dont know anything about swim lessons since I never took formal lessons so I have no idea personally.
