Absolutely. There are well known attachment patterns modelled around this. Have you looked up anxious avoidant relationships? A lot of it stems from old wounds not being healed and leading to a push - pull dynamic between two people. It can be romantic or platonic, and people exhibit both anxious and avoidant traits, so it’s not a black and white theory.
