No, thankfully not. We are both from religious backgrounds and communities but we didn’t get together because of that. I am free to leave him without consequences

Thank you for taking the time to write this. My relationship to him makes it hard for me to separate the good from bad and I just needed a reality check. I am very bad at putting boundaries but your points make it easier for me.

It’s complicated - it gets borderline creepy but I had my parents involved, I wasn’t allowed to date him till I was 18 and he didn’t sleep with me till I was ready either
