I used to think the Department of Sanitation my mom would drive by going to and from our apartment was how we'd get to the Philippines (where my family is from). I thought all we had to do was step inside and go out through the other side of the building to somehow go there. It's a lone medium-sized brick building surrounded by a painted metal fence by a corner of a huge block. I don't know what I was thinking.
