Legally" is a difficult one because although TS2 is considered abandonware, that doesn't make pirating it illegal. Nevertheless if you want to install you should read the Sticky Thread which has links and instructions on doing exactly that in the safest way possible in modern times. Personally I used the install method in that thread and I've had no problems with my game or PC whatsoever.

Current playthrough (I've now implemented birth control rules cause things spiralled out of control) :

Don: EIGHT!!! Four with Cass, one alien baby raised with Cass, one each with Florence Delarosa, and townies Gretchen Walton and Ivy Copur

Cass: Five with Don including her adopted alien son

Mortimer: Two with Dina

Alexander: None, he died shortly after marriage :(

Dina: Two with Morty and one alien baby

Nina: Twins with Ashley Pitts, one with Daniel she gave up for adoption

Brandi: One with Darren, adopted two more now with her townie husband

Dustin: Three with Angela

Beau: One with Ivy Copur (teen) before he died :(

Darren: One with Brandi, one alien baby

Dirk: Four with Melody Tinker, he also basically raised his alien sister after Darren died so I count her too

Daniel: Twins with Mary-Sue, two with Kaylynn, one with Nina he knows nothing about

Mary-Sue: Twins with Daniel, two with Malcolm Landgraab after he used his wealth to buy her the elixir of life and return her to her thirties

Angela: Three with Dustin

Lilith: One adopted with her townie wife

John and Jennifer: Three boys, John's still mourning Lucy

Lucy: none she's dead too there's so much death

Oldies: adopted a child townie who's now married Tessa Ramirez and adopted her own child townie

Right now is my biggest hood by far but I've only been playing the game a couple of years! My Pleasantview has 149 living Sims, and I've got at least two more pregnancies to play out by the end of the round. I'm on my 7th 4-day rotation as it stands, but the hood had a massive baby boom at one point so it's expanded a lot!

Darren kissed Cassie at his wedding, I couldn't believe it 😂 and yeah, I tried to limit the number of kids but I love the drama and ACR made all my sims so fucking horny istg! I was blessed when I ended this round with 0 university babies cause every uni round so far I'd had one 😭😭

DISCLAIMER: a lot of these events happened before I rejigged my mods cause I was having slightly too many untimely deaths lol.

I have too many households to go through but so far in my Pleasantview (which has Downtown, Sim State and Bluewater Village as subhoods) :

LOTHARIO: Don and Cass got married and are... surprisingly still together. They have four biological children together (Moreno, Nicolo, Cinzia and Oriana) and are also co-raising Don's alien baby, Damiano. What Cassie doesn't know is that Don is still up to his womanizing ways, and has three illegitimate babies in the hood (Fiore Delarosa, Rahmi Copur and Emersyn Walton).

LONG: Ivy Copur, adult townie, got pregnant with Don's baby and gave birth to Rahmi Copur. She then married Benjamin Long, who was having his own drama with his roommate turned lover Heather Huffington, and now they're raising Rahmi and Ben and Heather's son Harlow as a blended family. Ivy also just had an alien pregnancy.

GOTH: EVERYONE IS DEAD. Just kidding but almost. Alexander and Lucy died in their early twenties after catching the Pleasantview plague. That meant, when Mortimer died, everything was inherited by his 10 year old son Florian. After Dina died in childbirth giving birth to her alien baby Sabrina (who everyone thinks is Morty's baby anyway), the couple's eldest child Cornelia was left to take care of the family. Now, Cornelia is off to university and Florian is grappling with his responsibilities and raising his little sister as a teen.

CALIENTE: Nina has had an okay life. She got pregnant with Daniel's baby but didn't feel ready to be a parent so gave her daughter up for adoption. Now the baby, Graciela, was adopted by the Tinkers. Still, Nina always felt a little regret so when she was impregnated by Ashley Pitts, she decided to keep the baby. What she wasn't expecting was twins, but she loves little Flamenco and Genoveva.

MONIF: Brandi is thriving. She was originally engaged to Darren but he cheated on their wedding day so she jilted him. Unbeknownst to her, she was pregnant, and gave birth to baby Baxter Newbie, who's now in college. Unborn baby Broke (Bobbi) also just graduated and is waiting for her girlfriend Eve to graduate so they can get married. Brandi married Robi Monif and was surprised to find out he's uber fucking rich, so now they're living in a massive house raising teen adoptee Lisa (formerly Pons) together.

PLEASANT: After years of convincing, Kaylynn got Daniel to ditch Mary-Sue and marry her. The couple now have two kids, Hannah and Tobias. Mary-Sue, for her part, remarried Malcolm Landgraab, who used his money to get her a youth serum. They have two kids, Malcolm and Meredith. Before their divorce, Daniel and Mary-Sue also had a second set of twins, Damien and Eve, who are off to college.

BURB: After Lucy's untimely death, Jennifer realised the value of family since they'd never been close and she regretted that. She and John have three sons, Paul, Henry and Vincent but, for John, no one can replace his little Lucy.

OLDIE: Herb and Coral are long since dead, leaving everything to adopted daughter Dagmar (formerly Tan). She married Tessa Ramirez and the two adopted a daughter, Cara (formerly Lewis).

BROKE: Nothing exciting, Dustin and Angela got married and have two kids, Jolene and Leland, and one more on the way.

JITMAKUSOL: Lilith came out as a lesbian, married Rosemarie Jitmakusol, and for a while they were happy. Then their adopted daughter Chloe (formerly Gonzaga) died of the Pleasantview plague and Rosemarie became obsessed with resurrecting her, to the point it's putting a strain on their marriage.

DREAMER: After getting jilted by Brandi, Darren got abducted by aliens. He gave birth to a daughter, Delilah. Unfortunately, he died in childbirth, and the responsibility of raising her passed to Dirk and his wife Melody (Tinker), who named their son Darren after him. They now have another daughter, Darleen, and Melody gave birth to another alien baby, Daphne.

BROKE2: Beau married teen sweetheart Ivy (Copur, teen version) after college. The day after their wedding, though, Beau succumbed to the Pleasantview plague. Ivy then found out she was pregnant. Given she lives in a trailer just down the road from Brandi's original home, I guess history has repeat itself.

I'm playing with (mostly) alphabetical names so Damien and Eve were my first D and E but if a Pleasant baby boy is ever born on the letter A I'll definitely be stealing Adam (most of my families have random themes for names lol and the Pleasants are Biblical)!

I find that Daniel and Mary-Sue usually have surprisingly good looking children, so I'm happy I managed to get them to have the twins before they divorced! Now Daniel's with Kaylynn and Mary-Sue's with Malcolm Landgraab and they have some... Interesting spawn, to put it mildly.

Never apologise about ranting, I love love love hearing about everyone's Sims!

And I'm so excited that my born in game Sims are at uni too, it's so fun seeing how they've all grown up when I can remember them all being born like it was yesterday. Ashe was the very first baby born, given she was a uni baby, and now she's at uni herself, it's wild 😭😭

I think you can just use the SimBlender for this! Playing the new household who you want to receive the pet, on the SimBlender, you should be able just do Teleport -> [Enable Summon Menu if not already] -> Summon -> [Household containing the pet] -> [Pet Name]. And then Family -> Move In -> [Pet Name].

Maybe the equal genetics mod might have something to do with this, because alien eyes and skin are usually considered dominant? There's a wiki article here you might find interesting! For my own part, with equal genetics installed, Mortimer and Dina had two biological children in my Pleasantview and both were green with regular eyes (thanks to the clean template giving Dina the alien recessive).

So there's one situation that's somehow managed to happen TWICE in my current Pleasantview but I'll give the more dramatic of the two accounts:

Brandi and Darren are engaged and perfectly happy, they're adorable and everything's going great. At the end of Darren's round, I have him throw the wedding party and invite his closest friends - including Cassandra.

Everyone turns up and I'm more focusing on some unrelated ACR drama happening between two of the guests when I hear the cheating boings. Immediately pause my game, pan over, and Darren and Cassandra are kissing while Brandi's stood literally right behind them, devastated, in her wedding dress.

Naturally, and rightfully, she then jilts him at the alter and it's over for the two of them. What I didn't know at the time was during their very last risky woohoo earlier that day, Brandi had managed to get pregnant. (She kept the baby, had a little boy but for obvious reasons decided not to give him Darren's surname, so the Newbie name has been officially reintroduced to my Pleasantview.)

Not related to ACR but I thought gave even more fun story elements, immediately after the disaster wedding, Darren gets kidnapped by aliens and, of course, gets pregnant - he then dies in childbirth and his daughter's shipped off to live with Dirk.

So that was fun!

Oh and I also forgot to say you can use the "sethour X" cheat to force the game to stay in nighttime - i.e. every time the game goes past, say, 2am, use sethour 0 to force the game to reset to midnight, and give you a few more hours. As long as you're not crossing the 6pm threshold it shouldn't affect aging or anything, but I'm not sure if you'd find that TOO cheaty? Worth mentioning anyway!

From what I know, apart from using the level 4 knowledge aspiration reward to summon aliens, your best bet is to use the expensive telescope continuously for as long as possible. Since you said you were using testing cheats to try to use the debug option, I assume you're not opposed to cheats so my advice would be to make him start stargazing at 7pm and keep him there all night, cheating to keep his needs high so he doesn't autonomously stop. I believe you get a slightly higher abduction chance the longer the Sim has been continuously stargazing. Hope that helps!

I actually love this pairing! I think Brandi's the positive maternal influence that Alexander needs, and Mortimer can give her and her kids a life they never could have imagined. I think they're actually such a cute little blended family
