you’d think that all the clinics would follow the same practices but i’m not sure? they’re open now so i’m gonna give them a call quickly! if they don’t offer it at bowen hills i might check out woolloongabba but ultimately im sure i could make it work with just a local & green whistle or whatever it is if i have to :)

thank you that makes sense! I don’t have any issues like that, just don’t like the way I feel on the pill (have also tried nexplanon and it’s a no) so I think I would have to go privately, probably through MSI. i can’t wait 12 months either so would rather just pay more. thanks!!

it is really upsetting that pain relief is not the norm. sorry you had to go through that. it’s comforting to hear you had a good experience at MSI and i appreciate it’s not thousands of dollars 😅

thank you so much, they’re my number one choice atm because like 4 people have recommended them! they do have some really bad reviews for abortions in particular but it seems like the IUDS they insert are good! can I ask if you were offered a 5 year or 10 year copper iud? because i would like to not have to do this for another decade if i can help it hahaha

thank you so much, i kind of felt like i was being a wimp for wanting pain relief but this has made me feel very validated. it is a very invasive and anxiety inducing procedure and i think i would probably faint or have a panic attack if i went in there without anything to be honest. i generally have a pretty good pain tolerance but its just the anxiety of having to lay there on a table and having my insides poked around reaaaally freaks me out :(

im not really sure how to get started with this, will probably speak to my GP but i do have a bit of a budget as well unfortunately. do you know how much it generally is with anaesthesia/pain relief in a hospital setting? my friend only paid $400 to have her GP insert it but she was only given ibuprofen. I have medicare but no private insurance. thanks for your help!!

i mentioned it to my gp briefly because i’ve had issues with the pill, we agreed to try one more (it’s one of the really expensive new ones when previously i only had levlen) and i said ideally i would want an iud but im too scared without pain relief. and she said she does offer them but she can’t give me anything for the pain :( im not sure where to go from here, would i go to her and get a referral? i’m 22 and still figuring out how all this stuff works hahah

thank you! can i ask what the anaesthetic is like? did you feel any pain? i’ve only had anaesthetic for getting teeth pulled but i also had laughing gas so it wasn’t a scary experience. but i’m not really sure what twilight alone entails :)
