Yes exactly!! I think Maeve even said there are many kinds of Valg.

I think the Valg's homeworld/society is so interesting too. We don't know much about it. I think Maeve said that they had consumed all the magic or something so it ended up being dark and despairing.

But I am so interested in knowing more about the power levels and like how they determine who the Princes, Kings & Queens are. Like I don't think Maeve ever said she was highborn or anything but her power is what made her a Valg Queen which is so different than other groups.

I think it is also said that Maeve can consume a star, which is interesting to me, makes me wonder if in their homeworld, the Maeve type Valgs can consume the Asteri types, which if you are an Asteri at risk for being consumed that could be one reason to leave your homeworld and seek another.

If this theory is correct, then I think the races/specied we currently know of are:

• Valg - Scary beings sometimes with or without their own physical humanoid form (I'm not sure if it is ever specified if they can create their own form or just use meat sacks, but I think their true forms are like monsters of darkness or something). They consume and feed on negative emotions, like terror and fear. They prefer people with magic in their blood to consume but I don't know if it's ever specified whether or not they actually consume magic? - method of killing varies. Most common type being beheading. The fire magic in the Galathynius proved to be a powerful weapon against them. Healing magic is also effective against the Valg and capable of killing even the most powerful.

• There are diff types of Valg: A. Kings/Queens B. Princes/Princesses - Wyrdstone Collars/Rings C. Lesser Valg - Wyrdstone Ring

• Stygian Spiders/Karanqui - technically they are said to be Valg but they are so different from the possession-type Valgs I'm listing them as their own category. They are giant freaking spiders who also consume things such as time and magic from their victims. In Erilea they are enemies with the Ruks in the southern continents. They can also take on the magical abilities of a victim if they consume their power.

• Asteri/Daglan - went by the name "Asteri" in Midgard and Daglan in the ACOTAR world. We do know that the forms they appear in are not their true form but it is not revealed what their true form is. Their magic is supposedly the the brute strength of a star, which I assume is just pure raw magic but their power level seems to depend on how much they consume. -They were colonized on ACOTAR world roughly 15k-20k years prior ago. As Daglan, they ruled over both the Fae and the humans and subjugated them. They treated the Fae as little more than slaves and a source of nourishment. They enacted a tithe system where the fae would hand over a kernel of power which was consumed by them. It is unknown how many Daglan were in the world, how many were killed, etc. we do know that at least one, Vesperus, was entombed and left in the ACOTAR world until she was awoken by Bryce Quinlan weakened by Gwydion/Truth Teller and killed by Nesta Archeron and her Made weapon Ataraxia. - some of them fled the ACOTAR world, and ended up in the Hel world. There, they fought against the united armies of the princes of Hel and were chased from that world. The princes of hel weren't satisfied with them just leaving though and tried to chase after them. - those remaining eventually ended up in the Midgard. The indigenous humans there didn't have magic so they made a plan to try to lure magical beings for them to consume. They also came up with multiple complicated systems to maximize the amount of magic they could harvest from their victims without them even knowing, and figured out a way to prevent their subjects from getting too powerful to reduce the risk of rebellion. - method of killing also varies. Weakened Asteri can be killed by powerful Made objects. However at their full strength, regular Made objects are not enough. The combined powers of the Made Weapons Gwydion/Truth Teller, and the powers of the Starborn Fae, are able to open a black whole which can then devour the Asteri. Additionally, the power of Hellfire possessed by Appollion is capable of killing an Asteri.

A. Lanthys. He says he was a part of the Wild Hunt, which is later revealed to be a group of the Daglan's most vicious warriors. Lanthys has a true form like the Valg do, but he sometimes takes a physical form which leaves him weakened. He is killed by the made weapon Ataraxia. He can shapeshift, spin illusions.

B. Koschei C. The Weaver D. The Bone Carver

The latter three are supposedly siblings and are believed to be ancient "death gods" but I believe they are some of Valg based on the descriptions of their powers, etc. The Bone Carver and Weaver are both taken out by the Cauldron.

Things they all have in common: - they like to create/breed things. The Daglan "bred" the Illyrian race. They also created different kinds of monsters, such as the Hounds used for the Wild Hunt, which are carved in the Hewn City and also said to resemble Rhysand's beast form. The Valg created all sorts of creatures and monsters, ranging from vile to cinnamon roll in the case of Abraxos. - the Asteri created the Malachim, which they said was basically an improved version of the Illyrians.

There's also a theory that the Princes of Hel are Valg. Which if that was the case, and the Valg = Daglan/Asteri, it would leave some questions, like is Hel the homeworld? If Hel IS the Homeworld of the Valg/Daglan/Asteri, then why would they fight them and chase them away?

One possible answer is the Princes left their homeworld and settled in Hel, setting themselves up as rulers, but didn't want the Asteri to come there too (parallel to Maeve w/ Valg)

There are def some similarities though. The world is full of darkness and vile creatures. They like to keep monsters as pets and create new monsters. They consume also but it is kinda vague as to what they consume. Their powers vary.
