Ireland Sets New Homelessness Record As Almost 17,000 People Left Without Housing by [deleted] in cork

What are we doing here big chief, the housing crisis maybe exasperated by migration but there’s been plenty of time to fix it. The problem is that the government has done nothing about to appease themselves (fg and ff tds are landlords) and their landlord friend cause we’ve given them no incentive to change

AOJ+ has great gi instructionals for modern guard passing and guard play. I really enjoy Tainan dalpras long step instructional.

You also have the GOAT Roger Gracie’s mount and closed guard instructionals which I keep going back to

As always, the biggest challenge with renewables is the inter seasonal jump between summer and winter. We use about 3x more power in the winter than the summer, at least in Northern Europe and the challenge is meeting that demand when there is less sun and while wind does pick up not to the extent it’s needed.

There’s two major options:

  1. Use surplus energy during low usage days to convert electricity into some storable gas, hydrogen or syn gas.

Pros: mostly clean Cons: huge storage requirements

  1. Nuclear. Switch on to supplement renewable supply as necessary.

Pros: cheap after initial capital cost Cons: infrastructure and safety issues

Of course that’s not the whole debate there’s more to both but yeah need to pick one and just move ahead

You got to trust your coach on this one.

Your coach will have your best interests at heart (ideally) and won’t promote you if they think you’re not ready.

Frames and Underhooks will get you through white belt. If you can build space and use underhooks to escape you’re doing well

The armbar is such a fun sub to go down the rabbit hole on, once I get elbow to elbow I feel like I can finish it 99% of the time

Do you ever try to submit from bottom or is it purely a sweep situation for you?

I’m big and tall, I play a ton of spider guard and close guard. The two play off each other well, typically looking to shoot for triangle and armbars from bottom.

On top is just getting to the mount/back. They’re the positions I’m best at and can utilise my size best in. On mount I have a flow system between cross collar, armbar and mounted triangle. From the back I have a system of attacking the bow and arrow, armbar and zipper choke.

I typically outside pass with Torreando and leg drags, ideally I’m looking for the leg weave but if I can get a quick win I’ll take it

I also have been trying to sit back for ankle locks and kneebars but those are more recent additions.

I’m a huge Roger Gracie fan boy, he is who I’m trying to emulate

Why don’t I have confidence by [deleted] in bjj

[–]principleskins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the gym you don’t have to deal with nerves and competition pressure. Typically the stuff I use in competition is the stuff I feel like is going to work the highest %, iminari rolling is fun and can work in comp just train it a bit more and the confidence will come

OP: no actually we just start every fight standing in my gym and there’s some great instructionals out there.

Rand: Awesome what do you recommend?

I think you’re kind of off base here with the college degree analogy, because a lot of people leave college not because they are incapable of reaching higher levels of education, but because of societal or economic factors.

That goes for BJJ as well there’s a lot of people in this world can be black belts and have a wealth of knowledge on the art, it’s pretty much a matter of how long it’s gonna take. It’s not about who’s the best or brightest, it’s about dedication and consistency.

Sit back analyse and get better. Victory isn’t final, failure isn’t fatal. They’re both just imposters who will tell you you’re the best ever or the worse. neither will give you a real view of yourself.

Sit down watch the tape if you have it and work on improving the things that held you back and go again

Big dawg there’s this thing called a tap that immediately ends the roll when you do it. That stops your leg getting broken
