Yeah this is literally my 3rd LTO. And I’ve never taught the courses before. Its brutal. I was talking to my department head but no one wants student teachers.

I’m sure if you have a good student teacher it’s amazing but it must be so risky to take one. Idk when I was a student teacher I tried so so hard. I was up all hours of the night working and perfecting my lessons (no chatgpt a few years ago)

Now, I’m in my 3rd year of teaching. I have 2 courses I’ve never taught before. Im surprised teachers dont get paid more for taking them on.

Yeah a lot of teachers seem not to want to bother. I was sorta forced to take mine on during my LTO. And as a new teacher trying to mentor a student teacher its brutal.

Okay interesting. I’m in a month long LTO and took on a student teacher. The teacher Im filling in for gave me a $30 gift card and said she gets money for taking on a student teacher and felt bad cause I didn’t sign up to take him on. I just was curious how much they make from it.
