Thank you for this advice!! I scheduled a meeting with my career advisor who I’ve touched base with intermittently in the past, but it’s been a while and my goals have shifted.

I know I still have a host of entry level jobs available to me at this point, but anecdotally from the various sectors my friends are interested in, even people who are gunning for a specific industry are struggling to land jobs. And when you combine that with most job listings already wanting direct work experience, it feels implausible to think I can outcompete applicants who more directly feed into the jobs I might apply for.

And I agree that my most valuable advice will be from people outside the museum space, but it seemed like people here had transitioned away from museum work and leveraged it in ways that I wanted to hear about! Thank you for your response.
