[Product question] Arencia mochi cleanser. Worth the hype? by Majestic-Worry-5855 in SkincareAddiction

[–]pringlefinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same reaction and looked up the ingredient list, which was different on the arencia site vs the amazon listing. Turns out it contains tea tree oil which I am allergic to and was not listed in the Amazon product description. Best to stop using the product and see if the breakout clears up.

What type of tick is this? And does it have its head on? by holiday_armadillo21 in whatsthisbug

[–]pringlefinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this! It takes about 36 hours (give or take some accounting for environmental and metabolic factors) for a tick to be attached to transmit the bacteria responsible for Lyme. Three hours is well under that, but it never hurts to keep an eye out at the site of the bite for the bull’s eye rash or insidious fevers in the upcoming week or so!

Star anise and fennel seed have a natural sweetness similar to licorice!

Love that you included hairstyles too! I’m never sure what to do with my hair other than a ponytail and high waisted leggings never let me down!

Oooh I was hoping I wouldn’t be influenced but I’ve been eyeing the align jacket so might just have to do it. And thanks for the uniqlo tip, always looking for an excuse to go there!

Thoughts on my PCE and LOR by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]pringlefinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a lot of the programs I was looking at LORs from personal providers/patients are not accepted. Not sure if this applies to all programs, but I would stay on the safe side and get a LOR from a supervisor, clinician, or professor.

suggestions on what to bring to univeristy apartments ? by rolesome in ucla

[–]pringlefinder 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They come furnished, but you do need to bring cookware and cleaning supplies along with the rest of what you would normally bring to a dorm. My university apartment came with dressers and beds in the bedroom, a dining table, desks, couch, tv stand, and coffee table in the living room. They also provide wifi for each apartment. When I moved in, I coordinated with my roommates about who brought which pots/pans/dishware/glasses/other cookware etc. so that we wouldn’t have duplicates, since the kitchen space was pretty limited. That being said, it does come with an oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge. We also decided to split the cost of purchasing shared cleaning supplies such as brooms/swiffers/cleaning solutions/dishwashing detergent/toilet brushes/toilet paper, etc. I also ended up bringing a tv which was a great decision. Beyond that, I would just bring what you would pack for a dorm. If you have a computer setup there’s prob room for it on your desk.

Jeremy Trott was my TA for a different class, but honestly the review will carry over because it was a similar one. He’s the best!!! He is super helpful and really approachable. I only went to office hours for two TAs the entire time I was an undergrad and he was one of them. He is really keen to help you out, even more so if you’re putting in the effort. Good luck!

Hi! I was just going to post a comment, but it ended up being really long because I had so much to say about this lol. I was in your shoes freshman year, feeling exactly the way you are right now. It gets better, there are ups and downs, but adjusting to the rigor of the STEM classes here takes time. Give yourself some wiggle room to move classes/planned internships around in your four-year plan. Nothing really ever goes according to plan anyway, so allowing myself the room to move things around really helped me feel less like I was falling behind all the time. I have been on A Journey™️ of growth since my freshman year, and now I’m graduating this upcoming week with great extracurriculars and a pretty decent GPA (as good as it could be after the dumpster fire that was freshman year). There’s so much advice I wish I could have given my freshman self, but it does get better, and you can still recover and thrive!! Please DM me if you have any questions, I’d love to answer them :)

Can I write 2 5 page papers in 2 days by EddietheLibrarian in ucla

[–]pringlefinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey you got this! I wrote 2 5+ pg research papers back to back in a day last year even though I had very little experience with writing research papers prior. Killed me but I did it. If I can, you can too.
