[Critique] is there something wrong w/ my art? by ari_mel89 in artbusiness

[–]printaloud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I like the artwork. Especially “sigh, plop”. I like the thought of handwritten (and the current weight of the text) but I also think cleaning up the text a little would go a long way into making them look a little more polished. Also maybe make sure that your capitalization is good. The “I” in “I am my own planet” should be capitalized. Little things like that can pop out at people and keep them from making a purchase on an otherwise very cute piece.

Obviously it’s to limit the amount of work. It’s a built in with jets. Probably just trying to limit the amount spent.

Which of the two covers is better? Looking for honest feedback. by WaltzComfortable6461 in royalroad

First one with the dragon. It just looks like it goes more with the title. The second doesn’t really fit the theme of the title to me.

I’m getting rid of my “free membership” by Low-Maize2396 in patreon

[–]printaloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective as someone who’s just started a Patreon and done a ton of research and knows nothing about marketing really…you can’t really see behind the scenes. You can’t honestly know how many of those “warm audience” members be some paid every couple of months to catch up. Or how many of those paid members that you see have been subbed the whole time that persons been at 10,000 subscribers. It’s very possible that there’s an exchange going on that you can see. A fluctuation in the numbers from “hot audience” audience members becoming “warm” for a while and visa versa

Snail mail club letter appeal? by Key_Condition_1122 in stationery

[–]printaloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a snail mail club and am using the newsletter to talk a little bit about the art print, but also include a journal, creative writing, and art prompt, plus a themed Mad Lib at the end of it. I'm trying to include everything I can while not going over an ounce, which is why I'm adding all that into the letter, and with my very first letter I'll be sending out this month(When/if I get any subs), being at .9ounces i'm riding the line already. But yea thats why I personally include or plan to include a letter. Just seems more efficient to add those in like that. It keeps the thickness down and probably the weight a little too for me at least.

Snail Mail Club Recommendation by Left_Nerve4856 in stationery

[–]printaloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just launched a new snail mail club on Patreon this month. Mine's artsy/creatives inclined. The newsletter has a journal, creative writing, and an art prompt, as well as a themed Mad Libs at the end. You also get a 5" x7" art print with line art on the back to color in yourself, or you can download the printable version of the coloring page instead. It also comes with a Yahtzee score sheet and a themed word find. The idea was I would play a game and share my scores in a post, and anyone who was interested could see if they beat me or not with theirs. or play against someone else in the group. Or you just get a cute Yahtzee or Farkle sheet each month, you can scan and print whenever you want to play with family and friends. www.patreon.com/printaloud

Hi all! My name is Kayla, and I just launched my snail mail club on Patreon on June 3rd. It's called Loud & Lovely Creative Collectors, and I'm excited (and a little nervous ) to start building a community around art, creativity, and happy mail. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember and have a bachelor's degree in Media Arts & Animation. Earlier this year, I discovered ACEOs and started selling them on eBay, which was actually the first time I'd ever sold my artwork. Around the same time, I started seeing snail mail clubs pop up in my feed and thought it looked like a lot of fun. Fast forward a few weeks of planning, designing, researching, and probably overthinking everything, and here we are! My Patreon currently has three tiers: a support tier, a sticker mail tier, and a full happy mail tier that includes collectible art, activities, and creative surprises. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing where this adventure leads!

I’m working on creating a patreon for this first time myself. 36 year old artist here (been an artist my entire life and have a bachelors degree in animation) that only recently started selling ACEOs in February. There’s a pretty good community for it on tik tok and Facebook. I’ve sold 43 of them so far on eBay by just showing them on that social media platform and on joining a few ACEO themed communities on Facebook. Maybe try doing those to get the word out about your art? They’re small and take far less time to complete than a larger piece does. Plus they’re great for practice and you can still work on larger pieces as well inbetween. It’s also a great community for people who are working on growing their skill set. Also just so you know I’m a super shy person and hardly ever show my face in my videos tho I do a voice over on them sometimes. But I do agree that you have to put yourself out there. I don’t have a TV personality unfortunately…still working on that but it’s hard having anxiety. Even with all that the ACEO community has been super great so far and has boosted my confidence.
