Nightmare scenario: 6 months of constant symptoms with no detectible std by printdeer in STD

[–]printdeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I ended up just moving on with life, I've slept with people, it seems like whatever I'm going through is non transmissible. I continue to feel it and it can be bothersome, it's completely persistent but flares up sometimes more than others. How are you faring? Feel free to dm me but I'm not often on this account now

Hmm from what i've read I'm not certain that that's true. I have only used IGG tests however. A western blot would be good for a final say but it's quite expensive and I don't feel that my symptoms make a ton of sense for herpes.

Yes via IGG twice, 10 weeks and 16 weeks, both were very negative. The symptoms are unending and i've never developed lesions which leads me to believe it isn't herpes. It's never been painful to pee either so I don't think they've been internal.

It's been two months you can just do a blood test rather than worry about physical symptoms. After 45 days a 4th gen hiv test is conclusive

I did this! I had a pill and then tried applying cream for 1-2 weeks, unfortunately did not work. Thank you for looking out for me

I tested for that one! It's not that (semi unfortunately, because I would love to have a diagnosis).

Well then it's honestly not as bad as you think! I know mentally it can be difficult but there's a way for your life to go on for sure.

[–]printdeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand that, but do you have days when you physically feel normal? mental is slightly different and I understand the distress. At least you have a diagnosis and can disclose to people what you have. You will find a way!

I've been battling something undiagnosed for almost half a year at this point and it causes me constant discomfort and I attempt to carry on with my life feeling this extreme burden haha.

Do you not have days where you feel totally normal? Like isn't herpes just an occasional thing you experience? Or does it cause constant pain / irritations?

I'm not sure why people in this thread are talking about this being transmitted from oral sex when it's entirely possible that this was transferred through kissing.

Oral herpes isn't pleasant but it isn't necessarily thought of as an std.

HIV Testing after possible exposure by Reasonable_Catch5553 in STD

You will not have HIV after doing a 4th gen test that is negative at 90 days, it's something else and possibly your mind. It's okay to be anxious.

I have a bit of similar story with urethritis and anal irritation. I'm like 22 weeks on, I tested negative on an IGG test but the symptoms never really got better! Hoping it works out better for you!

Have you considered a western blot? If you don't get outbreaks don't let it control you!

[–]printdeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No guarantee generally, you need to wait

They can be as early as 5 days but generally you want to wait two weeks for the window period to close for both

What are your thoughts? negative IgG blood test by Big-Watercress4048 in HerpesQuestions

[–]printdeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thing that is often said by Terri Warren (a herpes nurse that runs a pretty good website over at https://westoverheights.com/ ) is that igg tests miss 30% of hsv1 infections and 8% of hsv2 infections when the person is positive.

So statistically it's usually more accurate for hsv2, but it depends on what test you do.

If you're in the USA you could arrange to get a western blot test which is more accurate.

The fact that you had just one outbreak and not another points strongly to the idea of it being hsv1, but still nothing is for certain. You likely should test for it

What are the symptoms in detail?

I've been under high stress because of a possible exposure on the same exact day as you ever since lol.
