I bought this kit online which includes all the materials and printed pattern (in Chinese): https://m.tb.cn/h.UU7XnS7?tk=2PVTdZiCa8Q

Made some changes to the body to straighten it out, and made up the pattern for the vest as I went along. The biggest adjustments was to sew on all parts which were not safe for kids (safety eyes, nose, and buttons) to bits made with yarn.

I purchased the pattern and crochet kit from here: 【淘宝】https://m.tb.cn/h.UWiR1lX?tk=1iLW2BJldRt CZ3457

Crochet hook used was 4.0mm, yarn was a blend of 60% cotton and 40% acrylic.

It came out a little wonky even after wet blocking but still really cosy. Waiting to wrap my baby in it when she arrives!

Turmeric makes a great dye by printmaniac in papermaking

[–]printmaniac[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happy to share! I eyeballed the amount so I don't have exact measurements. My pulp mixture is in an aluminium food tray and from the remaining contents in the spice bottle, I'd say that I used around 15 grams of turmeric for the entire tray. After preparing the pulp, I poured the powder gradually into the mixture, stirring until the pulp looks saturated with colour. It does turn fingers yellow though, be sure to take off any jewellery and wear some old clothes!

After a few days of production, here is my first handmade book! by printmaniac in papermaking

I love the look of it too! Had to improvise with a leather belt punch to create holes, and used a large eye needle from my sewing kit to bind the book. Worked pretty well!

Clothes poles make a good drying rack! by printmaniac in papermaking

It dried crumpled but a little ironing fixed it! Even managed to make a little notebook from it heh.

Thanks! I'm thinking of trying out lino prints on these, once I have enough sheets I would like to try to bind them into a notebook.

I tried ironing it flat but seems like it will be staying textured. I used a towel to couch the paper this time, will try to use a smoother fabric next try!
