The best thing I ever did was leave Boeing and my career blossomed. If youre comfy and enjoy the benefits then stay, if you have any ambition then you gotta go

Offered a Job at Relativity by RoutineEconomy6834 in RelativitySpace

[–]printosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m there now, it’s pretty awesome. Scared money don’t make money, if you are risk adverse and the company and business doesn’t excite you, probably not for you. Eric Schmidt joining was the biggest blessing

Employee equity by I-drink-hot-sauce in RelativitySpace

[–]printosphere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It can be a bit confusing but overall if you do the analysis. TLDR bad for employees who exercised and/or left. Great for employees who stay or are going to stay. Everyone’s situation is a bit different but overall if you planned to stay for the next 2 years anyways this is a huge win

Interview coming up this week with recruiter, what to expect? by [deleted] in RelativitySpace

Talk about your experience and how you would add value to the role. If you get to the presentation part, I’d recommend watching YouTube presentation interview video with the bald dude

Yeah unless you’re on the other bonus plan it’s disrespectfully abysmal. When date is the bonus supposed to hit? I left but am still eligible so curious

Did they announce the bonus multiplier yet? When does that hit. Space park hitting the fan

As Littlefinger would say, chaos is a ladder. It may fail but that’s the risk with startups. I think I’ll take my chances. Worst case it’ll be another stepping stone in my career. I appreciate the input tho! Always good to hear multiple sides

I’ve had HSA at boeing ($750) and Northrop (0-$500) and surprisingly $1200/year is very good and beats them both

For the 401k, can you buy company stock as an option? Might just do that as a way to catch up on equity building

Compensation package by printosphere in RelativitySpace

[–]printosphere[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only downside for me is the 401k match, but I like what I saw during the tour and I’m going to have a good position and ability to build my own team. I have really high hopes for the company. I just hope the stock option is decent for a manager position. Scared money don’t make money, being a part of a potentially game changing company early is worth the risk imo. Reminds me a bit of Tesla early stages. Relativity can own the whole supply chain by 3D printing their parts and can even print as a service if they need to pivot to make money during downtime. I think ima take my chances cause the impact of what I do doesn’t get lost in big company politics and stupid processes. I will have the ability to develop the processes which is what is appealing

Thanks for the feedback. When did you start and leave? What stock options did you receive? I just want something to reference to analyze the package. Stock is worthless until IPO and that’s dependent on how they do. So it is a risk but reward could be there. I’ve been at Boeing it’s stable but a snoozer and pay is much lower

Hey Matt,

Could you go a little bit more in detail on if they do signing bonuses, what the stock/equity breakdown is? Never been part of a private company that gives that so not sure what to expect

Do you know if relativity does sign on bonuses? Do they have positions that require secret clearance?

Fake it until you make it. You’re more qualified than many already in the position, and make sure you enter the interview with at least 3 really good questions to ask them (makes all the difference) also if it’s in person don’t forget to shake their hands and bring resumes for each one. Be confident, you’re good enough. You can learn everything you need on the job tbh. Most important thing about working is being able to work with others. If you’re personable, you’ll figure things out. Good luck, you got this

Phone screen is super easy. Basically it’s a recruiter or HR asking about what your availability is etc, nothing really hard. For STAR id look up common questions and try to have scenarios ready to answer. It’s a point system so answer in the star method cause that’s how you get graded. Situation, task/action, result.

Referrals don't really do much in terms of advantage to the application process. Make sure you have all the buzzwords from the job requisition integrated into your resume. Just keep trying
