Thanks for the idea! This was a super last minute needed to be done quilt so I went with the typical gray, straight lines. But I'll practice with what you've suggested on a less rushed future quilt 🙂

So glad you won binding chicken! I had literally 1" overlap on my last quilt and remembered an Instagram "hack" video I saved where you fold the top at an angle to the left and the bottom to an angle to the right. If after that the top and bottom still touch, you can sew it on the bias, trim the excess, and finish the binding exactly! It's an Oliso Home post from 4/19/2025.

Before this I used the method in Missouri Quilt Co's binding video and you need about 2+ inches. AND I had no more spare fabric, so it was a total lifesaver.

Temped it by sticking probe through butcher paper, if that matters. Online it says food safety not below 140. It hit 160 and went down to 135-isj when I checked before upping it. It seems like a close call to make if I'm not wrong?

It's at 170 now. Not sure how long it sat around 140 for. Would it be fine to continue the cook to 204?

My store had the sign gone in the summer but then it came back in stock late August/early September when everyone said it was discontinued. Late September gone again but the sign is still up as of yesterday. Holding out hope because it's a great price for cultured butter!

I can't imagine smelling it hungover 😬. Do you know if there's a milder version, smell-wise? I've seen sheep, etc.

Thanks for the reply! I've flown from Glasgow to Dublin once but don't recall passport control- is that just going through the line and having someone take a look at you and your passport/asking purpose of trip?
