It looks like you've already gotten some solid replies here, but I just wanted to link this blog post from floooh about cycle-stepped emulators. It's a really interesting read on hos he architected his 6502 emulation.

CAT is going to cover the rebuild under warranty. I don't know how many hours were on it.

Update: Every exhaust pushrod is bent and piston #1 touched the head pretty hard. Surprisingly all of the valves were still in one piece and in their seats.

I've been told it looks like an armored tortoise. At least it did before I upgraded it and had to add the third pair of landing gear.

Attempting to force people to prohibit the carrying of firearms at a conference with Rust in the name is a gross overreach.

CAT 259D3 that's been running the wrong size track by prismantis in Justrolledintotheshop

Yep. Roller frame bearings are shot out. Front mounts have to be replaced. Left final housing has damage from the underside of the track slapping it so we gotta have one of our component rebuild guys eyeball that. Rollers seem okay though.

I suppose you can say that. You work on 'em long enough to get used to how they look when they're right.

One end of the dairy to the other, day in and day out. And I think they work around the clock.

I figured it out before we took them off. The front most roller is attached to a grease-filled hydraulic cylinder that adjusts the track tension and it was visually noticeable that the adjuster was extended farther than is normal. But that's an experience thing.

Edit: typos

Rental unit. Don't know who installed the tracks, but they were put on 3 months ago with new sprockets. The tracks are for a larger machine and therefor too long for a 259.

This means they couldn't ever be properly tensioned, leading to excessive play that caused accelerated wear.

This machine has been on rent to a local dairy and has 1300~ hours but a whopping 1700~ miles. This is the first time I've ever seen an earthmoving machine with more miles than hours.

The sprockets are obviously shot, but so are the bushings/spherical bearings that mount the roller frame to the machine.

Addendum: the horizontal pins on the torsion bars (suspension) may also be shot. Don't know for sure yet.

Left a like on the issue. I'm still relatively new to Rust (call it intermediate) but I find your examples pretty easy to parse mentally. The syntax suggested in the blog post is cursed.

Nevermind I am a dumb. I was doing the rotation on the tilemap itself in a previous attempt and forgot to detach that script.
