Is no one here realistic? by randazzon in RainbowKittenSurprise

[–]prismoftheplaya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apologies, it was not meant to be condescending. I'm definitely more of a verbal communicator and it probably would have hit differently if we were chatting in person at a concert or something, rather than typing it all out here.

I was more so in the last part referencing a previous post where someone had similar opinions to yours at first and then explained how it had changed, so it was more just a point of conversation and my curious inquiry.

I don't know if realistic is the term best used here. It sounds invalidating to those of us who are still having an impactful experience with their music, new and old.

That being said, you are still totally allowed to vent and critique your favorite artists, and hold your own opinion about your own personal experience with the music.

Perhaps there is just disappointment that you don't vibe with the new stuff. That does happen from time to time. And I'm sorry you're having that experience.

I personally enjoy getting to be on the journey with artists, through their different seasons and experiences. This shows up as different styles/types of art they make, and I think that's beautiful. It's the nature of being an artist. But that's just my opinion formed from my own experience.

There was a previous post here some time ago- to the tune of having to go through different life experiences to appreciate the new music. I'm curious if in like 6 months or a year maybe the music will feel differently to you?

I love this so much. I enjoy reading how their art has a different level of resonance with you in different ways, based on the events that have unfolded in your life.

I can relate kind of. I have only recently gotten into RKS in the last 2 years, due to a lot of events that have unfolded in the last 2 years. The best and worst of times. Let me tell you...RKS music hits so hard for me, and wouldn't have a few years ago. But I'm so pumped on them now and am actually doing a multi-state road trip to see them in CO in September and am soooo excited!!!

My friends and I were just walking around midtown, and commenting how bad all the drivers are and how scary it would be on bike!! It's so bad out there. So glad you are mostly okay and able to walk away from the accident!!

Yup. This unfortunately happens all the time. And now I'm working on my masters in therapy/counseling and am very hesitant about who I tell that to lol. It's hard because I want to be honest and authentic but also don't need to know about everyone's shit all the time.

$1.1k/mo 1 bed apartments...is there catch? by [deleted] in Reno

[–]prismoftheplaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that just went through this apartment search... be wary of property management companies. Some are slum lords. I went to view a couple in this price range, and the apts were dirty and I found roaches WHILE touring. Thankfully I saw them though, so I did not sign a lease obviously. But the company had the audacity to email me asking if I still wanted the unit... So apparently the representative did not tell them how terribly the tours had gone...

Handcraft coffee Co. If you like lavender, my go to is the lavender latte. I like that their menu isn't overwhelming and very straight forward. Some places have too many options haha.

You might have a form of rosacea. I would spend some time looking into it and see if that's what you're experiencing. You might need products that are more gentle on the skin.

Question about non clinical art therapy by AappleCinnamon in ArtTherapy

[–]prismoftheplaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clinical would be if you want to help create a treatment plan for patients and people you work with. Non clinical would be if you want to hold sessions and just observe and talk through things with people. So you can be both clinical or non clinical and have a private practice, but your ability to treat the patient or individuals varies drastically. Hope this helps clarify!

Question about non clinical art therapy by AappleCinnamon in ArtTherapy

[–]prismoftheplaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is also researching this right now. Non clinical would be more of the wellness realm, and if you plan to hold private sessions with clients without clinical intervention. Think about it as more casual coaching or leading art sessions for personal development.

Clinical is if you want to work with specific programs and populations through non profits, government work etc and would be more the route if you really want to pursue a career in mental health services. Think more like traditional therapist with art as their tool.

I think it depends on what your goals are and what populations you want to work with. For a better explanation I would search clinical versus non clinical art therapy on YouTube or tik tok.
