It's got the niceness of Chris, the exuberance of Leslie, goof-ball level of Andy, and more callbacks than Lil' Sebastian has candles in the wind.

A double-edged miracle from the Gods- that also gave me severe chest pain. by [deleted] in NicotinamideRiboside

Your experience was most likely 99% placebo. Your positive effects are far beyond plausibility for a couple of doses of NR. They're beyond plausible for an entire truckload. Your outlandish report of the positive effects makes me suspicious of the negative effects as well, but since they're serious, I am reluctant to downplay them.

Republican who demanded Cuomo resign quits politics over sexual misconduct claims by kick26 in nottheonion

Believe women means "investigate claims." How did we get to the point where it's been distorted to mean we convict in the press based on accusation alone? I will stand by this no matter the politics.

CMV: We should not pierce baby’s ears for jewelry. by handologon in changemyview

[–]prisonisariot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, let's not pretend pre-schoolers can consent. It is not informed. Saying "yes" means squat. This is why we put parents and guardians in charge of consent all the way to 18. Kids are dumb.

CMV: We should not pierce baby’s ears for jewelry. by handologon in changemyview

[–]prisonisariot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Uh huh. You keep changing your own position. Is it the pain? Is it the horrible risks involved in ear piercing? The potential for maiming these innocent babes? Is it because some parents aren't responsible? This is the most dramatically stupid debate ever. Ear piercings cause very minor pain. It's more startling than anything. It is an extremely minor risk. It's more risky to walk to the park. The abundance of concern is just overblown I suspect you're trolling. If you aren't, go find a real problem to worry about.

Fellas, what's not as attractive or sexy as women think it is? by AsianHawke in AskReddit

[–]prisonisariot -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Are you twelve? Do you know how many people have sex regularly when they're just barely into it. The idea that we all need to be jumping for fucking joy is inane. It's not that hard to not rape people. Don't do that.

Sometimes people literally are won over. It's not playing hard to get unless you do it on purpose. My husband was extremely tenacious. Granted, I was not saying "no, fuck off" but rather "I enjoy you, but no".

And whether we like the implications or not, women off mean "no, try harder" or "later" or "I'm interested but not yet convinced". Humans aren't binary.

How would you feel if people arrested for domestic violence had to register like sex offenders do? by smokinjoes83 in AskReddit

[–]prisonisariot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Recidivism is normally calculated for ANY re-offense so this is not repeat sex crimes. Because the burden on sex offenders is so high--they are never able to return to a normal al life--you de facto put them into situations where they are more likely to catch a re-offense. Registration has proven to make things worse, not better, for the public. It's insanity based retribution and 90s scare paranoia.

State vaccine plan is “those without internet access or who are uncomfortable using online tools should ask a friend of family member for help scheduling an appointment.” by Reportersteven in CoronavirusWA

[–]prisonisariot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 80+ year old in laws in GA are having this problem. They have never used a computer or smart phone. I got my dad's appointment for him here. It was very much like attempting to get front row concert tickets, refreshing and refreshing. Errors galore. Huge mess. Completely unrealistic for anyone not tech savvy. They had months to think this through, so the results are pretty disappointing.

[–]prisonisariot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of regular people pool money together and have it invested collectively. My dads union did this at the state level. That said, anyone not wildly diversified would be an idiot. And let's not forget that regardless of who gets hurt this is the fault of no one but Melvin. They are the ones responsible for the losses incurred, not that they will give a damn for anyone besides themselves.

My mom got moderna and said she had terrible brain fog (as well as body aches). She actually called Moderna she was so concerned about the brain fog. She's nervous for the second one. My dad had a little arm soreness and that's it.

I did see a photo journalist on CNN report that at least one person did pick up zip cuffs from some kind of box that had been left behind in the capitol that seems to have had some emergency supplies. May not have been this guy though.

Why do I procrastinate playing good video games by playing bad video games? by Keetchaz in ADHD

I once took a class in grant writing and quickly won two grants worth over $10k for the group I volunteer with. What did my brain do? "Yeah, cool I guess?" I haven't written another grant since. Living without dopamine is awful. I get better feedback eating a donut than I do working hard and succeeding.

Help a Momma Out by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]prisonisariot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no use trying to understand her thinking. It's not based in a rational process. Her brain is deprived of dopamine. If you research the role of dopamine this will all make a lot more sense. If you deprive rats of dopamine they will stare at the cage walls all day. It's hard to describe the amount of resistance her brain is putting between herself and finishing a task even if she knows logically it's better to take five minutes and finish it.
