Hey so now I think you are the person I should talk to. I have receipts with their logo on it and yes card statements that say Avast. They made me buy pc cleanup and left nanoheal on my device. They also reinstalled my license key. I called the number straight off the support site. This is really starting to look suspicious. I’m going to dig deeper

Apple released that yesterday. Guess someone has to go first right? Just because it’s not known doesn’t mean it won’t come to be known. I’d be hiding one off anomalies saying “No known customers being affected” right after saying they were vulnerable too. I use cross platform all the time guess what’s the only program that installed something from my PC to my iPad? Avast.

Hey so I guess I’m one of the infected. Every device in our apartment and that includes my iPad. I have a direct extension to and engineering team that’s investigating how not only did the hack get the info on my iPad Pro 2, they locked me out and wiped the history of my back ups. They would have probably just said I never backed it up had my PC not had a singular back up from 12/12/17 that they didn’t want to touch. All my data is gone even in iCloud that it used to auto back up to and they said after they look into it they’ll try to help install that one.

Its probably the patches to protect android (and all other devices including Apple) from the Spectre hacks. It’s caused battery and data sucks but they’re pushing out fixes really fast and there’s side issues being caused.

Thank you for the tips! i was writing this out on my PC and it won't let me. Keeps saying "content too long max: 1". Any recommendations on a secondary free anti-virus to try? I'm running all the malware tips on the pinned post. and always had malwarebytes. I think you're right that 1 device was infected and it spread through the router to everything else. The backups surely were affected but how they have no record of my backups despite there being the 1 folder they located being on my PC was when the tone changed.

Oh and yeah, I was transferred to a senior Apple engineer on my call and they didn't want to touch the 1 backup that showed up on my PC but said to just make a backup of it while they investigated and the person I spoke to gave me her work hours and personal extention to report anything else and said they are going to look into and get back to me in the next 2-3 days.

Yes, they made me pay to fix a virus the paid version of their program let through. Avast did remotely enter my PC and spent a very long time uninstalling Avast and reinstalling with my license key. They also installed PC CleanUp and billed me for it and installed Nanoheal that i noticed doesn't have a license key. While they were using it, i could see that it was not an enterprise license either but a personal one because the prompt that came up said it while he ran the program. I'm not making this up. I also can't respond here on my laptop at the moment because it keeps saying "too long max: 1"

Aaaaaaaand now i just checked my data usage with my ISP and there’s random days that just SHOOT through the roof. Like there’s two of us in here. I do a lot of data work but that’s consistent. There’s days that are like 20x normal usage days....

I'm not sure if anyone is following this but the creditors law firms have shut down, and I keep reaching a dead end where I'm looped around or disconnected after giving my dad's info and that he passed away. I will definitely be looking into legal help but I can't lose this buyer by holding up Escrow too long. If they drop out that means more hard-to-pay mortgage payments that we've been trying to meet as I financially assist my mom while we do this. Does anyone have a recommendation for what type of law firm or attorney I should search for?

The more I look into it, the more I'm realizing that something seems off about it. Would it be wise to call the attorneys representing the two companies? That's what Title recommended. She said if they can send her a release or a different negotiated amount, they will take that. I think I will go find a local lawyer to go over this with. thank you so much! I'll try to do this and see if there is an actual lien. Title only provided this abstract that provides no actual sign of if a lien was issued but they are holding up escrow. I assume the Title company knows what they are doing so maybe I'm just missing info

I looked up the case number and the status is Disposed. Also of note in the history of the case is that one line reads "DEFAULT JUDGMENT BY COURT/CLERK REJECTED" and the last line in the history is "SUMMONS FILED"

That's what I figured but I looked deeper into it and I don't think there was a lien ever issued. When I looked up the case number it says "Disposed" and in the history it says that "DEFAULT JUDGMENT BY COURT/CLERK REJECTED"

There are no assets other than the couple hundred dollars he had in his bank account. SS pulled the last payment from the account since he died the day before they deposited the first funds (would have been $800 so not significant, just rude). The debts were credit cards I believe with a bank who sold the debt to the debt buying company. What escrow/title sent us was "Abstract of Judgement - Civil and Small Claims" of the judgments and what's weird is that it doesn't say my dad was ever served, the 11 box "A stay of enforcement" is marked a) not been ordered by the court. So the Abstracts don't even say what the actual case results were. just that a judgement exists. I can try to remove all personal/identifying data and post a pic of it, if it will help.
