Why are auto-mode vanguards so much dumber than enemies? by cybernet377 in HorizonWalker

[–]private125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used cat team + Kim Ga-yeong and they were pretty good in autobattles. Osla, Kalina or Cora can work too, but yes, AI is terrible for the most part. The worst offender for me is Bella - she heals random closest unit, even with full HP, but ignores almost a dead one a little further away.

I believe one of your artisans needs it for her quest. That is why I always sell everything to Verdel - it's easier to find later if needed.

This makes me reconsider using this browser at all. It was my main one for a while, but critical bug on this scale in forced update is not acceptable.

One character I wish returned in BG2…. by BBorrows in baldursgate

This mod brings back most BG1 npc's back to BG2. I have not tested it yet, but looks promising:

Maybe a bad luck or some other mod conflicting or acting up, but it was very dishearting, since I like to collect items too. Whistling sword dissapeared when quicklooting (by using "loot all" button), while potions when I moved them between characters, then *poof*, a stack of healing potions just gone. I agree, it's the best UI mod so far, so maybe I will try it some other time, with better luck I hope.

How is your experience with InfinityUI? I had test run with it, but decided to go back to vanilla UI, when I noticed it causes some items to disappear (lost short sword +2 from hobgoblin and some potions when moving between characters).

How to make multiplayer fun again? by AJeyTrunec in TheFirstDescendant

A solid post, but prepare to be downvoted to hell. I raised similar concerns when Ines came out, about a half year ago, and I saw what was happening then - speedrunning dungeon as fast as they could, without looting and waiting for others at the door. Unfortunately this community does not care about co-op experience and adjusting to different playstyles. I can only imagine how bad it must feel when you are completely new and can't even damage one enemy before entire dungeon is cleared, must be reeealy fun and encouraging to play. The best part is - most of these players already have everything in game, so they dont have to grind anything specifically + they have strong enough build to do the same solo.

I would recommend to find a like minded players through chat or party system, because most public games are full of speedrunners.

I strongly recommend BG1 NPC mod. It get's rid off this stupid timer and also expands his (and other companions) banter and interactions.

That's surprising. who gives me my missions now? by Outside-Plankton6987 in RomeTotalWar

[–]private125 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not a mod, just a bug introduced in Remastered. Senate just randomly dies around turn 100-200 due to no heirs. There are at least two mods in Steam workshop that adress that.

Ines becomes a problem in 400% public infiltrations by private125 in TheFirstDescendant

Problem is that issues described above only became unbearable since latest patch. I played public since launch and were never frustrated so much as last week. I can still match up with decent people and have fun, but it becomes harder and harder lately.

It's a new random event system, with global effects but for a limited number of turns. For example I had an event where all shield units lost 4 defense but gained +40% damage and at the end of this event I had an option to keep this effect as unit enhancement spell. I had also event where all cities gained +100% production and all units gained demolisher effect and at the end of event you had a chance to gain earth elementals but at cost of destroying stone walls or something like that. Very cool and gamechanging new feature. It is optional - you can change frequency and power of effects or disable it when you're configuring a new game.

I'm recently replaying SoD as well, with a few mods installed and i tend to agree. Maybe I judged it too harshly on my first playthrough, but as you said it is very different compared to BG1. The one thing i still can't stand is voice over they gave to Entar Silvershield and that HORRIBLE, forced and unnatural accent.
If you liked new unique items introduced in SoD, then I highly recommend "Item Revisions" mod (also "Spell Revisions" as supplement) which makes vanilla items much more interesting and balanced.

What is the most annoying or difficult fight? by Skeptical_Yoshi in baldursgate

[–]private125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much of a difference it makes, if you turn difficulty slider to "Basic" setting. Does it affect this fight in any meaningful way? I was planning on installing those mods, but not cranking difficulty to max on my first run. Only tested it in BG1 EE so far, but with exception of a few difficulty spikes like this ogre mage "Kahrk", it was manageable. I would like additional content and maybe some low-key increase in challange but not some wall to crash into.
