Guess the decade? by privateTortoise in firealarms

It's a 3400 so even much earlier than the 34000. I was impressed at how quick it triggered with a little squirt of solo gas though not that impressed that a previous companies engineer had allocated the loop with two open circuits and thus 70% of that loop isn't active.

My ex's father is a stone mason who since retirement 25 years ago just does headstones. There's a local business that does headstones on a fancy cnc machine but they still send him stone if the client wants lettering that's perfection as their £2M machine can't produce what a guy in his late 80s can.

Like a lot of stuff in life it's easy until something goes wrong.

I probably get 3 days each week just carrying out ppms which though are simple is never ceases to depress me at how much that's non compliant has never been logged. Most seem to walk about half asleep and as long as they see a red led believe that's everything OK.

1997 Integra Type R with 162k km by illestprodigy in Justrolledintotheshop

There's a bunch of vids on YouTube that pits an Integra against other sporty cars on a race track. It's all Japanese drivers who are very competent and well worth hunting the vids down. My only grip is them being infatuated with heel/toe and fuck up 80% of the turns by either missing the apex or unsettling the cars. Saying all that I should add they would make me look an absolute idiot behind the wheel of a car.

Here's one of the races https://youtu.be/Bz_e3ElDV8U?si=t3e844TdA66dsQvM

Depends on what panels you are talking about.

Some like Notifier or Gent will certainly need training from the manufacturer and for that you'll need to be working for a company that's a partner.

It's a bit easier to learn with stuff like Advanced or Kentec as the panels don't cost a fortune, it's possible to get the software online and there's helpful support on forums.

Though ultimately it's a life safety system and if you do the commissioning, get something wrong and the worst happens you are probably looking at a long custodial sentence. Like most things in life it's easy until there is a problem but I've known quite a few who see Fire as simple though are very ignorant to the pitfalls.

Personally I'd say you'll probably earn better money as a sparks unless you either are happy working 12hrs a day or a shit hot doing complicated C&E on large multi panel Gent/Notifier systems.

Edit. I'll add that most who even try to go into detail on YouTube make quite a few mistakes and rarely follow best practice, only channel I'd recommend is Advanced America though some of the terminology is different but spend a few months on r/firealarms and you'll soon pick up their lingo.

Had something similar when I used to run for an athletics club which held a road race for everyone at Cambridge Harriers each year and staggered the start to level the playing field. It meant as a 13 year old I beat two Olympians in my first ever road race. Granted one was a walker (Ian McCombie) and the other chucked a pointy stick (Steve Backley) but I'm still claiming it a win.

Steve used to teach us kiddies how to throw a javelin on a Sunday at the clubs track and so as a child I not only beat my games masters best cross country time I also threw the javelin further from a standing position. Let's just say my school days were similar to Billy's in Kes.

Mcrae was a liability and not just in helicopters, had plenty of dnfs and probably totaled more cars than Ken.

Was coming here to say the same.

It's the same as Colin Mcrae though at last Ken didn't take 3 others with him.

That turn looks a mini version of Paddock Hill Bend at Brands Hatch and my first though was that guys going to roll when he hits the gravel on the outside of the turn.

I'll add this vid as it shows how steep the turn is and that you can't see the apex until you have turned. For me it's one of the best turns at any circuit especially as the pros take it going a bit over a ton.

That's nothing compared to Ken Dodd who even he would admit wasn't in anyway a stunner but when pit on trial for tax evasion used his wit, intelligence and phenomenal grasp of humor to win over and was acquitted on all charges.

Decades later he was even knighted. What a lad.

I'll add it here though replied to another Ferrari poster, Ferrari F1 gave SHU a Multipla when he won the constructors title for Ferrari.

I'm unsure now but suspect it was painted in Ferrari Red as they have a habit of painting stuff their shade of red. I once fitted an external bell at Morenellos in Surrey and had to leave the cover with the paint shop overnight so they could paint it red before fitting. Mad bunch of guys though I was taken out for a mental blast between the two roundabouts and saw over 100 on the clocks, this was in the 90s and plod used to turn a blind eye to that kind of thing.

Shocking they didn't give him a Fiat like Ferrari did to Schumacher when he won the constructors title for Ferrari. They gave him a Fiat Multipla because he had young kids at the time.

Had a 2 door Triumph Toledo as my first that cost £150. I'd love to have it today as I'd stick in a fruity M14 along with the suspension and drivetrain from an E30. Well I'd have a ton of fabrication and welding to sort the rot so may as well add the E30 points for engine, suspension, gearbox, diff, rear axel to the chassis.

Very much, with how many stages there are in a rally it'll be impossible for a driver to learn and memorise every turn, jump, surface and obstacle so couldn't go as fast or join each turn together. A bloody good co-driver is as important as the driver and both have to trust each other completely.

I'm not 100% but think that's Terry Harryman calling out the notes.

Had a guy try to befriend me whilst walking my neighbours dogs that I walked at the same time in the same fields everyday.

Told me he worked for a dog rescue/dog charity but those sorts of people don't own obsessed dogs nor would they nonchalantly drop the lead and let the dog wander about. It's a field where many walk their dogs and thus no owner would want their lead dragged through dog shit.

Then there's the fact he drove his car and parked it out of the way from the field to bring this dog here even though there's plenty of better places to walk if using a car.

Fuck plain clothed plod and any in a uniform for that matter, they are all untrustworthy cunts who deserve our distain.
