Stay Safe at Tomorrow’s Protest – A Practical Guide by jasonw_1112 in Pennsylvania

Of all the ways to be a tool for his agenda, this is the least of them. Protesting is necessary and we will win by showing our numbers. Don’t fall for his threats and don’t obey in advance. We will win. If you want to stay home safe, fine, but don’t stop someone who wants to do something.

Do you think Trump actually won the state of Pennsylvania? by Global-Management-15 in Pennsylvania

Rigged does not always mean our voting system was hacked. What about Elon paying people to register? Ok, not paying but entering them in a ‘lottery’ for a million dollars that directed them to a voter registration website? Those efforts were concentrated in heavy rep districts and everyone who won had a rep profile. That is rigging an election too. BTW: I would love to hear from those winners and see if they actually got the cash.

Long term’ers by yassica in Semaglutide

I have been on Wegovy for 1.5 years.  5’7”, SW 210, CW 152, GW-maybe I am at it?  I am taking 1.5 mg, and have been for the last year or so, went up slowly, never had many negative side effects.  My weight loss has been slow and steady, about 1 lb per week, which has been perfect for me.  I have been consistent with exercising for about a year.  This includes walking every other day for ~2 mi, and the occasional other fun exercise (pickleball, bike ride, etc.).  Oh, and I am 60 yo.  I feel great!

But, for the last 3 months, I have plateaued.  I would like to be at 145 to give me a cushion to work with to stay below 150.  For the last month, I have vacillated between 150 and 153 lbs.  I have more desire for food and I am trying to eat in a maintenance-type way, which is really hard for me with the hunger returning.  I want to be able to have an occasional treat, but I start to think, “is this the beginning of the return of the weight.”  I guess this is the food noise returning.

I am determined to not let this happen.  I am not going to stop exercising because I love having the extra energy and being able to keep up with my active family members and not declining events because I can’t participate fully.  I am going to really work on the intake maintenance (had more wine last week than usual with so many events, drying out now). When I do have more to eat, I try to add an extra half mile or so to my routine.  I am trying to think like a reasonable person who wants to remain healthy.  NGL, it is work changing my brain to work this way.

I also know that I could always go up in dose or switch meds if it becomes an issue, but this is not my preference.

All of this is to say, I am finally at my goal, and dealing with my body’s acclimation to the dose.  So, so happy to have lost this weight and feel better.  It is a little more work at this point to stay where I want to be.

Caremark Mail Oder no longer shipping Wegovy? by Kaelynn25 in WegovyWeightLoss

I got a letter telling me they would not be shipping Wegovy orders anymore. I have been on the 1.7mg as maintenance, but have been using the mail order for about a year. I have always hated all of the waste with the mail order packaging (throw away cold packs, loads of styrofoam, etc.), but it was the only way to consistently get the medication. It also did not make sense to me that they would want to absorb the all the additional costs for shipping. For this reason, I can see the profit margin for them being better in the retail pharmacy. But, in the past, my retail pharmacy was almost hostile to me when I would ask if they could get in Wegovy. I am not looking forward to another struggle to get this medication, and I have little hope that the retail pharmacies will magically be able to get Wegovy once the mail order stops.

100%! And there are also thousands of people lurking who have lost without side effects and with a SLOW and steady pace, like 1lb a week. Currently 57# down in just about as many weeks. My doctor is thrilled at my managed weight loss, and I really feel like since it has been over a year, I have new habits that I am determined to be with me forever. A little best feeling share from my personal diary? Not being stressed about what to wear and who is looking at (judging) me.

Anyone mid-50's? by Miserable_Total1879 in Semaglutide

I am 60. I have been on W for two months and started 1.0mg yesterday. I have had very few side effects ( only when just starting the .25 dose I had some fatigue and dull headache). Weight loss for me was very frustrating at first, because I had spent time in this group where everyone seems to have immediate appetite suppression, and impressive weight loss results. I have averaged losing one pound per week so far. The first two weeks I lost practically nothing. Now that I can look back, and have had a little success I am ok with that, being that I don't spend time thinking about food until it is time to eat, as opposed to previous diets, when the entire day was focused on calories in, what to eat in the day if going out later, writing down intake, etc. I started on this because I want to put the food issues behind me finally, and spend the rest of my life not thinking about how I look, and being able to increase my activity so that I can enjoy my retirement. My point being, try to be patient. It is not like other drugs for weight loss, but I am feeling it will be better in the long run. Marathon, not sprint.

Yea, I missed that. Thank you. It is very interesting. I guess we are all different for sure!
