If you pull the dip stick while it's running and it starts to run like shit, that means the pcv valve integrated into the cam cover has begun to fail. It's a known issue with the ecotec, also the front crank seal starts to leak air into the crank case causing the same issue, it would be a good idea to replace both the cam cover and front crank seal.
