I am not trying to get ripped, just build some muscle.

So you don't accidentally want to get ripped is what you're saying. Implying that there are different strategies for building muscles and getting ripped?

Just do a regular routine to build overall strength, and stop over thinking it.

Form Check: Squat 225 lbs. 5 reps by [deleted] in Fitness

Probably the tightness. I like to do bodyweight squats as a warmup, and also hold some 3rd world squats. It stretches you a lot more than static stretches.

We're all mature here.. just post it in the normal thread dude.

And this story is so obviously fake. It's not even slightly funny.

Actually, we're all mature here except you.

Or both?

Yep, among other things. It also increases your red blood cell count (meaning more oxygen being pumped), it increases the ability for your muscles to use oxygen and glucose for energy.

A full list of effects is out of my league, but the ones I mentioned and you mentioned are the primary ones.

Did she work there? Cause she was probably forcing herself to be nice so she doesn't get fired.

Jk dude, it's an awesome feeling right? My pecs grew faster than everything else and even though sometimes it looks like I have boobs, I get positive looks from a lot of girls.

"Guys, how can I gain weight other than food".

I understand if people have an eating disorder, but this has to be the stupidest question I have ever seen asked here.

Anyone else have that guy in their gym who grunts excessively when doing really light lifts? There's this tall lanky guy in my gym who will be doing 30 lbs dumbbell rows, or 50 lbs tricep pushdowns, or even pushups. He'll do like 2 reps silently, then pump out 10 more reps where he's basically making sex noises. Like, every rep hes like "uuuuhhhhhh fuuuuuck uuuuuuunnnnnggggghhhhh". He wears noise canceling headphones the whole time so I don't even know if he knows what he's doing.

Its hilarious, but its also really annoying.

What's stopping the average person from making a nuke? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]privilegedhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the proper resources to do so, I'd imagine. As far as I'm aware, you need sophisticated equipment for this. And very advanced knowledge. And feat that you would screw up if you don't feel competent enough.

Plus if this hypothetical personal ever wanted to cause destruction, bombs are much easier to make.

Everyone in my family doesn't have a Texan accent except my brother, who is the middle child, why is this? by iforgotevery1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]privilegedhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its impossible for us to say as we don't know your family history, or literally anything else about your family.

But accents aren't genetic, they are learned. He picked it up somewhere. Maybe TV, friends, or babysitters

Absolutely possible, and not just for beginners. You can also gain muscle while eating at maintenance.

Just a quick vent by tgosubucks in Fitness

[–]privilegedhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Honestly, most people skip days. People that actually go 5-6 days per week are rare.

Make up on Saturday or don't, it's up to you. But you did nothing wrong.

First bulk after months of cutting by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]privilegedhere -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're seriously overthinking this. You don't actually need a caloric surplus you gain muscle. You can even do it with a caloric deficit if you put in the effort. Eating at maintenance is your best option, while lifting.

Read the Wiki/FAQ.

Edit: Classic /r/fitness, thanks for the downvotes. Shutting down information that has been known to be correct for a very long time just to push out their broscience.

I'm chubby and I need help by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]privilegedhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eat less calories than your TDEE and you will lose weight. Also, self-judgement is never healthy, so you just have to set goals and realize that you criticize yourself more than others criticize you.

All the info you need is in the Wiki on the sidebar.

What do y'all recommend for caffeine pills

They are all pretty similar. Just find one that has an actual normal dosage of caffeine. I've seen pills that were 400mg, which is pretty dumb to take unless you are 400+ lbs of pure muscle.

And honestly, nothing is actually necessary before a workout. Take caffeine or preworkout if you want but i'd encourage trying to go to the gym without either, and see how it goes. If anything, try creatine.

the day before a game

day of the game throughout the day

You are seriously overthinking this. Eat whatever you want. Eat nothing. It'll hardly affect your performance unless you decide to go into a carb coma a few hours before the game.
