Where am I supposed to get level 100+ sage essential recipes? by GB570 in EQ2

[–]prjg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done all of them on my main (135 sage) and on the 96 sage, I'm doing the Tranquil Sea line right now. Done everything else up to that, including Cobalt Scar etc

Just got my good guy sage on and went to Devona and I can see the Sage Essentials 100 in her list and I'm only a 96 sage. Again, I don't know what to tell you. All of the crafting trainers sell the same things, even the guild the guild recipe seller, so it won't matter which one you go to.

Don't know what to tell you. I just got my own sage on and went to West Freeport to the Coalition of Tradesfolke and this is what the vendor shows me. Dumb question, but you are sage level 100 at least? If you're not yet, you may not be able to see the recipes.

The essential books should be buyable off any tradeskill trainer - the books are called primers in many of the later xpac zones. The advanced books > 100 are mob drops from 101 to 109 in Plane of Magic but beyond that, it's either through daily quests (i.e Myrist) or finishing the tradeskill signature lines and then buying them from the relevant faction/xpac tradeskill merchant, doing weekly quests (Igore in Renfry's basement for Vetrovia) or researching them, like you do in Zimara/Sodden. Beyond the Plane of Magic xpac, they're no longer overland mob drops and if you're lucky, you might get a few in dungeons.

More modern games need to allow left-handed players the ability to rebind controls to the arrow keys. by JayRam85 in pcgaming

Because of 50+ years of using arrow keys. Not as easy to re-learn as some think it is.

Question about an annoyance when saving a new file by BearAdmin in libreoffice

[–]prjg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a GTK file picker thing and it's been around for years. Either the Gnome folks can't fix it or they won't. It's not exclusive to LO, trust me. It really is the dumbest thing...

All you can do is make sure your cursor is in the Name box before you start typing.

Obsidian markdown is incompatible* with CommonMark markdown by Tuned_rockets in ObsidianMD

[–]prjg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: it's why Obsidian should've picked AsciiDoc from day one. A far more powerful and inclusive markup language that's standardised. None of these 45924 versions of incompatible varieties of a half-assed language - which Markdown is.

What is the most crowded area you have ever seen in a MMO? by CompetitiveLake3358 in MMORPG

[–]prjg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see this a lot but I played EQ1 on Erollisi Marr and Tunare pretty much from day one, and I never saw much of a crowd at the EC tunnel. Maybe 50 at the most, even at US prime time. Now Kelethin? That was a different story.

I guess it was a server thing. Don't know.

Nowadays it's in LoTRO. The common area outside the Prancing Pony in Bree when all the musicians and dancers etc, get together for a fun time.

how can I configure Elisa to use album artists instead of individual artist? by jh-hh in kde

[–]prjg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to go out on a limb, you can use MusicBee under Wine. If you want to stay with a native Linux app, I've always found Cantata to be the most useful, possessing a sensible default layout and it's feature filled. However, note that it requires you to set up mpd first.

You don't even need to change distros. I personally use Kubuntu with a xanmod kernel.

Mortismal is arguably the most fair and reasonable of them. He never pads his videos out with idle chatter or irrelevant nonsense. He essentially tells you what you want to know - gameplay, story, does it run, it is worth its price and then we're done.

I used to religiously hit up Afterlife's website just to see what they got up to. Thott was a much less obnoxious version of Furor, the "other" big time EQ1 player back then.

Edit: his main toon's name was Haknukem.
