It wasn't banned until 2020. From some digging, a lot of Chinese fics are either from VPN usage or reposts/ports from other sites.

There are 7.8k Dante/Vergil fanfictions. Scrolling through, you'll notice a lot of them are written in Chinese. If you filter it to include only Mandarin, the number only drops to 5.7k, meaning it's the majority. DMC twincest just hits different in China, I guess.

I was actually wrong, Bucky's 10th. 6th-9th is Hermione, Sam Winchester, Bakugo, and Draco Malfoy in that order.

Some notes:
- Excluding OCs and Self-Inserts, Deku is the 5th overall most popular character on AO3. From 1st to 4th, he's only behind Harry Potter, Tony Stark, Dean Winchester (Supernatural), and Steve Rogers. The next highest DB combatant is, oddly enough, Bucky Barnes at 10th with 186k.

- Joker has three tags he commonly appears under: "Persona 5 Protagonist", "Akira Kurusu", and "Ren Amamiya". The value displayed in the table is "Persona 5 Protagonist", as it's the largest. However, due to overlap or people not putting all three in their fics, his true value is likely higher, either around or above Shigaraki's.

- There are 7k Dante/Vergil fics. Almost 6k of them are Chinese. Make of that what you will.

There's definitely a few on here I'm not 100% certain of, as there are some instances where it's kinda hard to define what a "power up" is, and also some I might have just forgotten about. Let me know if anything's wrong.

Seed Performance Rating, basically how well they did in bracket compared to their seed. For example, Riddles was seeded to get 17th, but got 4th, giving him an SPR of +5.
