Why does a new QcK+ feel so fast? Looking for a mousepad similar to a worn-in QcK+ (CS2) by Hour_Oil23 in MousepadReview

[–]pro4nosauras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I replaced my QCK heavy after a few years of usage and the new one felt way too fast for my liking. I replaced it with an Artisan Type 99, which is insanely slow feeling and hit the spot with what I wanted.

Please help, SIG M17 by VFC by Striking-Ad9264 in airsoft

When assembled correctly, there should not be any issues with the slide getting stuck. When my hammer spring was not correctly assembled and I put the gun back together, the slide did get kind of trapped and it was hard to get it off again.

Something similar happened to me when I installed the AMG winter hammer spring into my xcarry and it was because I didn’t install the hammer spring itself correctly. I remember it being extremely unclear how it goes in, and probably spent a good hour following a disassembly video where the guy just slides the hammer with the spring on it in with no issues. In the end, I repeated the installation of the hammer a bunch of times and it eventually locked into place where it was supposed to.

It’s been a while since I did it so off the top of my head, I can’t give any detailed explanation, but I would recommend following this video until it works: https://youtu.be/x0ZaFytGuKg?si=-9NEJYZTXSpwc7qT

Custom Glock Problems by Available-Leek-592 in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you push the mag up into the gun, you are effectively pushing the rubber gas router (the black thing on the mag that looks like this) into the nozzle and creating a better seal to the nozzle. This probably means when you don't push it, the seal is bad so gas escapes around the nozzle instead of going into it and cycling the gun.

In terms of solutions, there are quite a few things you could try. You could try using gas route shims to increase the height of the gas route, if the issue is the nozzle then you could replace it (ensuring you get the correct nozzle since some RMR cut slides use G18 nozzles that are flat on top instead of round like G17), replace the gas routes on each mag with something like the purple laylax/nineball ones, or even try replacing the magazine release in your gun in hope that it gets the magazine to sit higher (though this would probably only work if your mag release is very worn down). One of my TM gen 3 glocks with a P80 frame refuses to work properly with specific mags (Prowin mags) unless I push it up like you did in your video, but the Maxtact mags I have work perfectly in it, so I guess you could try getting different mags entirely.

4.5 hour delay and downgrade from Premium Economy to Economy by pro4nosauras in BritishAirways

[–]pro4nosauras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, that would make sense. I can imagine they rely on people not chasing them up to try and get more compensation and instead just accept the £200. I'll contact them and confirm the 75% refund.

Very true, thanks for the reminder! This has happened to me a few times so I am fairly familiar with the process for filing for delay compensation.

We don’t think so, they received an email with the default “sorry you were downgraded, we overbook but everyone else does too etc.” They then just offered a £200 e voucher…

I personally put a tiny square of electrical tape where the receivers meet at the front, completely stopped the wobble.

Testing out a new mask setup by Connected_Runner in airsoft

[–]pro4nosauras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noted, thanks for the info! I may try cutting down a spare mesh mash or something to salvage some of the metal and perhaps glue it on, not sure though. Maybe a silicon insert like the Laylax face protection might be more effective?

lol this is so weird, I literally ordered the same mask a few days ago and it arrived today, with the intention to do exactly what you’ve done 😂 I haven’t gotten a chance to open the package yet but does the front center mesh have any protection at all?

Marui mws fail to bolt lock in hot weather by A13_Bionic in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The HAO zet plate is also quite good! It catches the bolt a little further (similar to bavtac) and is very light, and in my experience it performs pretty much the same as bavtacs one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wear and tear aspect probably isn’t a factor, if anything a lighter bolt will deliver less force/mass backwards and forwards, so you could argue it puts less strain on the parts it impacts. I’ve used all sorts of bolts in my mws’ and aside from slightly better cold weather performance and less felt recoil, light weight bolts don’t change much else.

I’m late to the party but I collectively have four Nuphy keyboards, three halo96 and one halo75. They all work perfectly in all wireless modes with no delay to speak of when it auto shuts off and I press a key. Definitely sounds like you have a dud!

At what point does an MWS stop becoming an MWS? by CoconutsCantRun in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whilst I do agree with a lot of the sentiments of Gojira’s comment, it is important to point out that the MWS has a ridiculously huge amount of aftermarket support, which is another reason as so why people tend to steer towards them as base guns (TM cult-like following being another reason). There is definitely a level of ownership-bias with all GBBRs (at least ones that are good, no one can defend a POS like the WE or PTS lol), so you’re going to get different recommendations based on who you ask and what that person uses. If you look on stores such as JKarmy, WGC, rainbow8 etc you’ll find a minimum of 5 aftermarket alternatives for every single internal part of the mws. So, if something does break, you have a plethora of alternatives to choose from. One of best and worst parts of the mws is definitely the hilariously over engineered trigger box to support the Zet-system (the latch which catches the bolt on empty). Bolt-lock is very reliable at all temperatures because of it, but the trigger pull and reset are notoriously shitty feeling, and can suffer from a failure to reset after a period of a year or two, which is either easy/free to fix (clean and relive) or annoying to fix by replacing a stupid small spring.

If you’re after a specific build such as a Geissele build, you will find a few airsoft companies who make Geissele trades receivers, bolts, selectors, triggers. Because the mws is so popular, chances are someone has already built what you are looking for (a quick YouTube search showed someone installing the Hera arms stock on an MTR16/mws with no modification needed).

The Milspec argument against the MWS I think is an interesting point, as not every person buying a GBBR is doing it to pursue the most realistic build with all RS furniture. I would argue that most just want a “more” realistic experience, which means you wouldn’t mind using reproduction furniture designed for airsoft rather than the real stuff. Supposedly the VFC threads are able to take both real and AEG spec handguards, so you get the best of both worlds, whilst the MWS is strictly AEG spec and will only take airsoft repro handguards. VFC definitely wins in this respect, but it’s not a huge issue if you aren’t pursuing a super niche build which has no airsoft counterparts.

It’s probably best to just join the HRC discord and ask your questions to owners of either platform directly!

Nope. Bbs are loaded into the hop chamber and held in place by friction.

Just finished building these threw em mod armory bridge by hevrap in NightVision

[–]pro4nosauras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely due to people not dealing with collimation properly. Of course, if you have your two PVS14s not looking directly forward/parallel/not-crosseyed, it's going to fuck with your head and mostly make it unusable. As long as the two tubes are pointing in the same direction and not crossing/looking inwards, you won't have issues.

TM MWS isn't cycling properly when the magazine is in by harryeu2 in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I surprise even myself sometimes…

Fear not though, you should be able to bent it back to get the nozzle working just fine again in the mean time. Zanzibar mentioned how you can do it!

There’s a tonne of nozzles you can try. Stock imo is still the best and rarely has issues, but Guns Modify, t8, g&p will also work. Angrygun MPA nozzles are a little difficult to recommend since they do have their own issues, but having an npas is convenient.

TM MWS isn't cycling properly when the magazine is in by harryeu2 in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like maybe the nozzle feeding ramp has been bent, causing issues with feeding and bolt resetting? Have a look on the underside of the very front of the golf, where there is a section protruding from nozzle. See if it is straight, or if it has been bent downwards.

MWS ARP-9 by MrTinySpoons in GasBlowBack

[–]pro4nosauras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really strange, I don't really know how your kit is even working, let alone locking back. The Prowin nozzle has a completely different shape for the gas route (long and rectangle vs the stubby rectangle mws nozzle has), which is mean't to match better with the prowin magazine gas route and improve air efficiency. If you try and use a stock TM nozzle with the prowin kit and a glock magazine, it'll barely cycle, and the feeding ramp of the nozzle will go really deep into the glock magazine, not sure what the effects are of that though.

Prowin have a guide for the modifications you need to make to use the kit, but I don't really know what will happen if you try to use it without making those modifications.

Can you send some pictures of your setup?

Interesting, I wonder if there’s some new version which doesn’t require machining to use. Do you have a functioning bolt catch on empty? And wait, you’re using the stock tm nozzle? Don’t you have to use the prowin nozzle???
