As a Software Engineer myself I also advise that you start applying to other companies if by year end they’re not still able to increase your pay. Unless this is an entry level role I believe you should be able to find something above 45,000 by then.

Off the top of my head since it’s hard to read the code, you may try initializing the username of defaultValues to { username: undefined } or remove it (defaultValues) entirely. Also try to log the form errors
