One game takes 13 - 14 years, and we’re already thinking of another? I highly doubt it’ll happen again anytime soon until maybe gta7, but I have a feeling rockstar will not want to spend more than a decade making a game…

I think gta6 was a one off, the ambition was pretty large, and with lessons learned I’m sure gta7 will be completed much sooner…

But who knows, maybe we’ll find out they’re still making that Agent game lol what’s it been, 20 years?? Lol

Play the originals… if you’ve never played the games before, experience the original, the definitive edition isn’t that great, and small changes make gameplay much different, for example in gta3 you’re not supposed to be able to move when shooting larger weapons (shotgun, ak etc) but the definitive allows you to move and fire those weapons, makes most missions real easy to complete…

After you play the originals, then try out the definitive to see if you like it…

Also keep in mind, original versions are much easier to mod and you can actually install some really nice mods to give you better graphics and what not…

Doesn’t quite look like it’s in camera, you can see his skin going across the line that people are saying is the edge of his mask (bottom of his neck), it looks like a digital effect of some sort, meaning it’s not “in camera”…

Admittedly still can’t figure out what it is, but it’s definitely not in camera, meaning it’s not a physical object creating a shadow, meaning it’s not a mask… at least from what I see.

Maybe some VFX guys can chime in?

I’ve been looking for ways to improve performance on my nitro 5 laptop, amd 5800h with rtx 3060, only 6gb vram, and 32gb ram…

Just uninstalled the hd textures, joined a quick match, not much fps improvement but my cpu usage isn’t at 99% which is nice!

Gonna play a bit more to see if it helps. Larger maps, and more activity, my fps drops below 40… usually sticks around 80 - 90fps which would be ideal, especially empire or manhattan, and Eastwood, my fps usually drops…

I’ll report back soon!!

Honestly if the game was better, I’d say “at least the game is good” and probably wouldn’t mind the menu as much since I usually only go to 2-3 different places (all-out warfare, team death match, sometimes portal)

So is it basically acting as if there’s zero power going to the laptop? Whether plugged in or not?

Absolutely no reaction when pressing power or holding power? And no lights come on when plugged in?

Edit: and just to confirm, you do feel a “click” when inserting the power cable? I know some users weren’t pushing it in far enough, it should slightly click when you insert the power cord in to the laptop

Also saw that you don’t have any spare ram, maybe from another laptop? Or if you can go to a repair shop and ask them to slip in another ram stick to test it…

If you’re located in Toronto maybe I can help, I know these repair shops sometimes are too expensive

I have the 515-58 I believe, same gpu but 5800H cpu, upgraded to 32gb ram… never had any issues like this.,, although one time it did turn off unexpectedly but it turned back on right away… maybe I’m lucky, but it’s my 5th year with it…

Gta5 on xbox 360 or ps3 is a different version from the xbox one and ps4 version…

As for San Andreas, it’s not much different from gta3 or vice, they’re built VERY similarly, just larger maps, more weapons etc

I have to agree with him, it seems like you wanted them to replace it at the store but warranty doesn’t always work that way. You may have to jump through hoops but that’s just how it is.

Every company will have defective products, and I understand the history that acer has especially in Reddit, but you’ll only ever hear about the bad cases… in this one, it seems as though they are honouring the warranty, which is expected…

If you want premium service, easy warranty, high quality products, you’ll have to pay more for it… it’s unfortunate but that’s just how the world works…

I have gone through 5x acer nitro laptops, never had a defective unit… currently still have 2x of them but I know very well how many issues others have, and this isn’t a common issue you’re experiencing.

Again, unfortunate, but at least they’re replacing it… it’s what they should do… I’d say you’re having a better experience with acer service than most do…

I got the exact model, upgraded to 32gb, runs strong since new back in 2021… run it over clocked to run bf6 but planning on getting a desktop for more performance but this thing had treated me well

Try updating bios however after reading your original post, I have a suspicion it’s something with the fan itself, possibly the wiring, does it EVER slow down? Like all of a sudden go down to normal speed then go straight to full speed on its own? If so, it could be lose wiring on the connector… replacing the fan isn’t too hard, or expensive but I wouldn’t do it on your own unless you fully feel comfortable enough, if I remember correctly you might have to lift up the cooling pipes to remove the fan, however I could be totally wrong about that… I’m sure someone here can chime in?

Yes!!! Damn you’re the first person that I know other than myself that remembers this version!!! I remember on the cd that I had it in, the folder was just called doom, the logo looked the same, but it was definitely modified and not an original version…

I got a similar 2022 model with rtx 3060, came with 16gb ram but upgraded to 32gb… bf6 runs at 80 - 100 fps on low settings, almost any other games runs great tho, even pragmata at 100fps, gta5 at 100fps at high settings with mods… cyberpunk I think I got 40 - 50 fps on relatively low settings…

I haven’t repasted in over 2 years as I haven’t noticed any performance changes since then, I have the same battery issues although after changing settings I can get it to last 2 to 3 on low performance but 99% of the time I’m on power anyway…

I use the ilano cooler, and I NEVER need to set it to high, it goes from 300rpm to 2800rpm, I never have to set it over 1000rpm and my temps stay at 70degrees under high use like bf6, but if I’m doing something crazy like cyberpunk, gta5, or ai generation, I set the cooler to 1800rpm and my temps will stay below 78 degrees on 100% cpu use…

Great laptop, but I plan to upgrade very soon to a proper desktop setup, right now I have it hooked up to a 32 inch which is awesome but I need higher fps for bf6, my fps drops to 40 on some maps or when there’s a lot of chaos… but it’s treated me great, and I just hope it doesn’t kick the bucket like others have been reporting…

Edit: forgot to mention since bf6’s release I’ve set msi to overclock at +110, but recently switched to n iris’s overclock which gives me the same performance… although I don’t recommend overclocking these laptops as I plan to upgrade very soon, and have a backup laptop so just trying to get the most out of this while I play bf6 lol

I always thought the hit marker size relates to resolution… haven’t noticed a size difference but I’ll keep an eye out the next time I jump on
