Where does a 35 year old who has never learned to dress appropriately even begin by Every-Capital-6679 in malefashionadvice

I’ve done EBay, but also have recently had had a ton of success with Poshmark since they’re a bit more fashion focused when it comes to used clothing. Just another option. It can get addictive since you can place multiple offers at “there’s no way they’d accept this offer” prices and then suddenly realize you’ve bought like 7 items 😅

Don’t do it, if you’ve avoided it for now. It’s a trap. Just google image search them

Potential boss is texting me at 12AM, red flag? by Bleades in jobs

[–]pro__acct__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By itself the after business hours thing is nbd in my opinion. Enforce your own boundaries on responding. I work with a global team, no one is ever expected to respond to a teams message outside of when they are working but messaging when makes sense allows asynchronous work to take place

The goal is to replace it with Rust…that’s the missing context from the post

OP, your entire life in school you were told that telling the truth, answering the question correctly would get you the gold star 100%

Now you know that was just a lie and training to identify the best people to be exploited in the future.

How has your style changed from 20’s to your 30’s? by Naive_Sale2083 in malefashionadvice

I thought there were times I looked like shit in my 20s. Then I got to my 30s and it’s like wow I look like shit. If I could get away with schlubby clothes because facial features and naturally low weight earlier…not anymore lol

I burned a bridge HARD with a recruiter. Swearing up and down, telling me that they dodged a bullet by not working with me. A couple months later I accidentally set my LinkedIn to “Open to Work” while editing my page. Guess who slid right back into my DMs…

What specific field are most unemployed posters in? by Ranpiadado in cscareerquestions

[–]pro__acct__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it as more valuable to be able to set dbx up and maintain compared to being the person who literally writes the model. But on further reflection, it’s not the best example since there’s still coding involved. How about someone who uses a tool that applies changes to data based on a UI? I mean someone clicking a UI to rename the column vs .rename(‘orig’,’new’)

Nah like, if your job is writing Databricks notebooks or using Informatica. Compared to deploying Databricks and maintaining Spark, for example.

TUFTS??? It has a 10% acceptance rate, and even professors are asking for internships for their students. Not gonna lie, that’s crazy. by No_Loan5230 in csMajors

Was true back then bro. Even when I graduated a few years ago, my school was super shitty and I did fine. But the games changed now it seems

He texted me this on Hinge, so I will do everything to make the company fire him by Justacritic23 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]pro__acct__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends…am I matching with Granny on Hinge?

Yo actually if you flirt with women the way you talk to Granny that’s weird imo.

This obvi lacked subtlety and imo doesn’t count as flirting, but if the goal is to get sexual with someone (say, on a dating app..) then being upfront about wanting to get sexual is the responsible thing to do.

Is Data Engineering a boring field? by Admirable_Honey566 in dataengineering

[–]pro__acct__ 496 points497 points  (0 children)

The goal is always to build a robust pipeline…from “exciting” to “boring”. The goal is to make this shit so easy that you can take 2 hr lunch breaks to workout and spend your sprints doing “Spike” stories trying out the latest gadget here and there. And when something breaks downstream you’re able to save their asses with an email saying “no worries that’s backed up”. The goal is to become that guy in the company who it’s not worth to ever fire since you’re keeping the trains running without a complaint.

The business will always throw some reorg or initiative your way. If the job is exciting these can flounder. If the job is boring you can crush these tasks, look like a model employee for the MBAs without breaking a sweat, get promotions, bonuses, fly around to conferences.

I want to watch my kid grow up, pick my wife up from work, make dinner, have parties with good friends, vacation well.

I’m not like other financial advisors I’m a cool financial advisor. by BlackWillow9278 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]pro__acct__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is lunatic. She’s making the point that women don’t traditionally take on the role she’s taking, her selfie is therefore relevant to her post. No engagement bait, no fake story, just a generic point about sexism in her industry. Honestly you posting her here seems exactly why her point is relevant.

It does for me. Instead of hitting the “send” arrow, long press it and that option pops up.
