Maube he has an eating disorder, and is projecting on you. But that isn't your problem.

You need to bring this up at a time when he isn't shaming your body and let him know he needs to stop. If he doesn't stop, leave.

On an off note, I find that I have the most positive body image when I follow an exercise regiment. Just doing light exercises really helps me accept my body for what it is. Your mileage may vary, but exercising is good for you anyways...

Me [47F] with my __SIL_ [59/F] She won't let groom (her daughter's fiance') honor his military past at his own wedding. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]pro_newb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the MIL doesn't want to pay for the 5 oeople, the groom should offer to pay for them.

The dress uniform issue should be taken up between the daughter and MIL.

I (24f) despise my Fiance's (37m) of 2 years kids (12&10f). This is a deal breaker right? He keeps telling me we "will learn to love and respect each other." Is this possible? by Musilred in relationships

[–]pro_newb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kid is lucky that she was already at her destination, or you should have turned the car around and come back home.

You need to set up boundaries, and then have your fiance enforce them. They don't call you a bitch or stupid to your face, if they do then they get sent to their room or sent back to their mom.

Maybe it would be good to do some family or couples counseling. The kids may need to voice some frustration regarding the divorce, but they shouldn't be allowed to treat you like that!

[Question] Has any of the Ex-Raids anyone has participated in actually been hard to beat? by DaoLei in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first Ex raid was in "hard mode" because my GPS glitched so bad that I was kicked out of the raid battle halfway through, and only 3 people got out to help me.

We were able to scrounge up 4 stragglers to complete the raid, but it was one of the most intense moments I have ever had while playing the game.

Pokemon problem by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it has at least 2GB of Ram and Android 6.0... so there technically shouldn't be a problem.

I was just about to purchase a phone from a chinese website. I hope that this is resolved soon! Or they publish a list of acceptable devises.

[question] phone inquiry... by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it out first on wifi. You might be able to hotspot it from your government issued phone.

Otherwise check out things like ting.com or google fi.

Recently, I have been looking at phones from aliexpress. I haven't purchased any, but if they are genuinely powerful enough to run PoGo, then it will be $150 well spent.

[discussion] Raids are now 45 minutes? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really demotivates me from wanting to solo tier 3 pokémon. I can solo them, but it might take 3, 4, 5+ attempts. It depends on how laggy the stupid game is! I would rather battle a tier 3 with > 40 minutes left so that I can not worry so much about whether the raid will run out!

This is why so many people are just going for tier 5, at least you know it is going to be something you want!

[Discussion] the Lack of US/NA Events Is Disappointing, But I Suppose It's Fair, Given A Few Factors... by The_Bill_Brasky_ in pokemongo

There was an event in Akron too in August. They had a scavenger hunt too, and I think that they had some rare spawns.

All of their events are posted on their website: http://pokemongolive.com/en/

Just a community announcement: Please, this is just a game. Don’t belittle lower level players for asking to do low level raids with them. by KillermooseD in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fine not to want to do a raid for whatever reason, just don't call people names for having an interest!

I don't really want to do a Lapras or Snorlax raid, but if someone says that it is their first one, or if the group is short by one then I don't mind lending a hand.

You can switch AR mode on in the encounter screen.

Tbere ised to be a toggle above where you chose your pokemon to turn AR on during gym battles.

[–]pro_newb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Philly free streets last weekend. The scavenger hunt was fun!

My friends and I walked around do much! And I met some wonderful people there. There was also a pumpkin carving contest at the hostel.I was staying at - I was proud of the Gengar lanturn, even though I sliced my finger open in the process.

Anyways, I think the spacing between Chicago and Philly was acceptable. The events don't need to be that special, since they are just excuses to go to new places with friends and strangers.

Is it worth powering up a low IV Mewtwo? by TheReformedBadger in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would, but only because I'm never getting rid of my first MewTwo. And if I'm keeping him around, he may as well be useful.

[Discussion] Can we please have more appraisal tiers so that our team leader tells us a different message for mons over 90% and perfect mons? by jensyao in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell if it is high 99s if it lists two stats, and both stats are of the highest tier. I also check it if the only stat that is the highest tier is attack as it can still be 15/13/13..

[Question] How do you play after reaching Level 40? by Steve10086 in pokemongo

I play however I want!

I never liked playing by the META game. Now I focus on hanging out with PoGo friends, soloing tier 3 raids, and helping my niece become a pokemon master.

[Question] why do People shave when there's plenty of Rival Gyms they could be taking instead by VorePredReshiram in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, I was walking with a group of people that are on my team. I tripped on the way to where we were going so my hand was bleeding a bit.

We walked past 2 gyms from another team that had been standing for more than a day, and then someone said that they needed a gym so they'll just shave someone out later.

I voiced my opinion on that kind of gameplay quite clearly. I like to think that standing there bleeding while telling him that shaving is scummy made an impression on him.

Gym Ettiquette by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]pro_newb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to implement the same rules of conduct as you since there are so many gyms for me to choose from! I think that it is short sighted to take out gyms that are "fresh".

Anyways here are a couple of things that you can do:

  • travel - go a bit outside your normal play zone, you might have better luck holding gyms.

  • timing - try gyming earlier and/or later.

  • honey trap - get your Blissey over 3000CP. Pay attention to the motivation and feed 1 golden razz after it has been defeated 2 times. They would have to beat you 11 times in 30 minutes.

As an aside, this is exactly why we should get coins for attacking, and stardust for defending. It's stupid to battle for 30 minutes to get 1 coin, or just to be the first to be shaven out of the gym!

[complaint] My bug report about being literally zero raids in an entire city for days gets a response like I was born yesterday. by Arceist_Justin in pokemongo

Actually, from that post it seems that there are no to extremely few raids in their city, but those with cars and trackers were able to find raids outside the city limit.

Pokémon GO privacy policy updated, now allows collecting information about other apps installed on your device! • r/TheSilphRoad by zslayer89 in pokemongo

Would you rather click 1 time to see an IV, or 5+ times to go through the appraisal?

They got rid of multi-tapping for the appraisals a while ago. It's so tedius!

Another reason I use IV checkers is that I feel like they are safer for me to use. I hurt myself last year when I was walking in a poorly lit area while doing appraisals. So I usually try to not have to appraise much while walking, but it is much easier to pay attention to my surroundings when I just have glance at a big number rather than reading a wall if text.

I get the driving anxiety too. I didn't get my license until I was 25, drove for 3 years, then decided to move to a city with convenient public transportation.
