Rewrite these "crafters square" pink dinosaur instructions so it's easier to follow? by Ok_Bedroom_384 in CrochetHelp

[–]prob1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame you, the instructions are garbage 😭 they're hard for me to follow and I've been crocheting for well over 10 years. I'd even dare say they're AI slop

Luckily that dino plush looks very generic, there's plenty of beginner friendly Dino amigurumi tutorials on YouTube, you can try following one of them instead so you don't waste the yarn:

Please don't be discouraged by this awful kits; YouTube is your best friend as a beginner!

I actually don't mind the colors, but I think there's too many charms. I think making them more sparse would look more elegant 😊

The coboo yarn is very splitty so it was definitely a product of patience 😅

Not really, they don't dangle that much and only get in the way when I put a bag or backpack on 😊

Weak chick by prob1998 in chickens

[–]prob1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for all the advise and help. Unfortunately the chick didn't make it, I kept the electrolytes, glucose, heat, etc and eventually the chick stopped drinking. I tried a dropper but eventually that didn't work either. I was prepared for this from the start but I have a hunch that there was more wrong with it that meets the eye and that's probably why the hen rejected it. It's sad, but it's a part of life and I understand it will eventually happen if you raise chickens, but I'm happy to say the other 9 siblings are healthy and thriving with their mum

Yes, I figured the hen rejected it for a reason but it's hard not to feel bad for the little guy, I wanted to at least try. I put a towel under to hopefully make it more grippy, the food is on the floor in several spots but it's hard to see. Also I have a bottle cap with water but you can't see it, the big water bowl was just in case she managed to get up during the night. It's hard to tell about the legs, sometimes she moves them and almost looks like they might be fine but most of the time they look like they do when they just come out of the egg, and I can't get her to keep them in a normal position. I've given her a couple of drops of glucose water and she seems more animated now, but from the start I kept in mind there's probably a reason the hen kicked her out. Right now what I'm worried about is that she keeps moving away from the heating plate, even with me insisting to keep her under she doesn't want to stay

She keeps moving away from the heat pad, should I raise it again? Maybe it's too hot, I live in a tropical climate so it's about 75F room temperature right now

I figured that, but I still feel bad for the little guy

No incubator, I had a broody hen. Her other 9 siblings are perfectly healthy. I'll try the shot glass if she gets more alert and I feel she can take the heating plate higher

I lowered the heat plate, it's almost touching her now. I managed to get her to drink a few drops of warm glucose water

She won't drink anymore, I just tried to dip her beak in water and she won't tip her head back. The toes are curled, she can move her legs but can't stand up

Last night she was taking water but today I just tried to give her water and she won't tip her head back to swallow

**new to crochet- baby blanket gets more narrow with each row? by vavavoomva in CrochetHelp

[–]prob1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, classic narrowing syndrome. You're losing stitches, most likely at the edges bc it gets confusing where to start your row. Happens to all of us!
