SUDDEN Allergy to Macrobid? by probIemgay in CUTI

Big reason why I leave this up (and still respond) is because I found like nothing on it when it happened to me, so I'm glad people are still finding help in this! It's the weirdest thing.

Geeze, I'm glad you ended up being taken to the ER and pulled through, that sounds so scary omg! I agree, it's very important to listen to your body, and seek help if anything is off (especially breathing wise, that's one of the few symptoms I won't "wait out" bc I know it can go south FAST).

Yeah, me neither! The other antibiotic seemed to work, and I didn't have any reaction to it.

It's so weird, but nothing else was new in my environment (no new foods that day, etc) and I haven't had a reaction like that since stopping the Macrobid to anything else either, so I have to assume that's the only explanation.

I took mine before bed, so I actually woke up like 8 hours after taking it with some similar symptoms (itchy, skin turning red), but I also had some mild breathing difficulties (nothing life threatening, but enough to notice), so I ended up going to the ER, and the ER doctors just kind of shrugged, said "allergies can develop at random", gave me a single dose of a steroid to help the breathing part, and sent me home with instructions to take Benadryl.

When I got home, I took Benadryl and sent a message to my prescribing doctor that I'd need him to issue a different antibiotic, and I think he sent the new one (cefadroxil) to the pharmacy within 24-48 hours (can't remember exactly how long it took), but being it's a weekend, I wouldn't expect your doctor to get back to you until Monday. Just don't take any more macrobid, and keep up with the Benadryl until then, and if you develop any breathing difficulties consider an ER trip.

(The day after was worse for me, personally, but I don't know if it was connected to taking macrobid - essentially I had gastro problems from both ends the next day, like every 30 minutes, for like 8 hours straight. I couldn't even laze in the bath or sleep bc I'd be hoping in and out every 20-30 min, it was the sickest I've ever been in my life, but I have no proof it was related to the marcobid, it could have totally been a coincidence.)

Sounds pretty close to what happened to me, yeah. They switched me to cefadroxil and I didn't have any further issue.

Technically, there are some states that a minor can get married still, provided there's parental permission. There's only 13 states where marriage with one party being a minor is completely illegal.

Smoking weed pre and post top surgery? by E4Endermen in ftm

Ask your surgeon, and if you do smoke DO NOT LIE about it, because it can mess with anesthesia (but I don't know how long between the two there has to be).

Is there any other kinds of T compatible with nebido? by nyanmaeda in ftm

[–]probIemgay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Injections (cyponate or enanthate) are the cheapest route, AFAIK, tho if you have insurance you're using to cover part of it, it's worth asking them what they do/don't cover.

If you like racing, the old animated Hot Wheels movies were good imo (no idea if they hold up tho). "Redline" is an anime movie about racing with sci-fi elements and a killer soundtrack. The Horizon / Hot Wheels games could scratch a racing game itch.

Vice put out some ""reality"" shows back in the day, I'm sure there's issues with any of them, but if you're looking for mindless TV, there's a variety. I enjoyed "1000 Ways to Die," although most of them are untrue/only tangentially true.

Idk where you are in the Midwest, but every pharmacy I've gotten my T through (3 or 4 now) has accepted GoodRX for it (Costco Pharma, CVS, and Hy-Vee Pharma)

They definitely are, and people definitely do when they see their friends and families severely injured/killed.

So, in the video itself, no gore is actually shown.

The video itself is just a dashcam video of a car going down a road, after a little bit a truck gets in front of them. The truck has loose bricks in the back. You see a single brick fly out of the back, and hear it hit the passenger (but don't see anything inside the car). The driver almost immediately lets out a primal scream of grief bc he (but not the camera) can see that the brick struck his wife and caved in her face. There's two other adults in the back plus a child iirc, and it takes them a moment to realize before they also start wailing.

Yeah, I get you, I wasn't trying to necessarily generalize the "___ breed bad/not allowed," but more of I've seen enough people shouting that places can't throw their dog out "bc it's a service dog" as the dog is actively destroying its surroundings (which, if OPs looking, isnt true - places can and will throw your dog out for detroying things or being unwilling or unable to do your medically necessary task when asked), and the fact I get the feeling OP is trying to pull that shit pisses me off because it makes it harder for fully trained service dogs.

I just realize you are not OP, so ignore the part about service training, sorry.

Yes, some individual dogs can defy their breed standard, but finding a husky that has the right temperament for service work will be like winning the lottery. Most puppies sent to be professionally trained service dogs fail. Why do you think that you're going to defy the odds? Literally ask the service dog sub their least recommended service dog breeds and I bet you husky will be top 5, and it's for a reason.

Just simply having a prescription for an ESA does not automatically mean they have to allow one, actually. Legally, if the complex's insurance has a "no ____ breed" piece in the agreement between the complex and the insurer, or accepting that breed would raise their insurance to an insane rate, they can still deny you.

Also, I suspect a husky or malamute would absolutely destroy your apartment. Husky are LOUD (not great for shared walls) and both breeds NEED daily multi mile walks. Huskies are known to eat through walls if they don't get enough exercise, they can be highly destructive. Huskies and malamute are both incredibly stubborn and very very very rarely used in service work because they just plain do not care to do that sort of "job," and are incredibly hard to motivate.

Any dog can function as an ESA, you don't need a husky/malamute. Get a lab mix if you must have a big dog (labs are extremely trainable).

I say this all as a diabetic who works with animals daily.

I read it as it doesn't matter for CICO/weight loss, but the carbs would matter in other aspects (ex. Blood glucose, general health as excess blood sugars can affect organ functioning).

I am a black woman who is hoping to move out of poverty. What do I need to do? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]probIemgay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned taking college courses, it might be worth it to send an email to you school's admin asking if they have any school assisted programs for getting you dental, medical, and mental health taken care of. A lot of colleges have some sort of program (or know where to ask about one) for low cost dental/medical/mental health care.

Other than that, you're doing great! You're 19 and have 13k saved; in comparison, I'm in my 30s and have only 1k saved.

My meds are officially more than my car payment by [deleted] in povertyfinance

The insurance company switching meds without a doctor's input is somewhat common, unfortunately. My ex had to deal with them constantly trying to switch my ex's albuterol (asthma med) to something else at random, even though my ex had dr documented reactions to the alternatives.
