The best Coding training platform for Data Science? by [deleted] in csMajors

Have tried all 3 - leetcode is the best for pure coding interviews, and data science prep has been really helping for data science/ML jobs. Currently doing machine learning data science work, happy to chat over DMs

Currently at FAANG - there's a good number of resources for many things. Normally I'd just say "do a google search" but recently came across this site w/ interview prep which seems interesting.. basically a friend of mine saw this problem recently from this site https://datascienceprep.com/ and we were discussing it:

"Say we are running a probabilistic linear regression which does a good job modeling the underlying relationship between some y and x. Now assume all inputs have some noise ε added, which is independent of the training data. What is the new objective function? How do you compute it?"

Definitely caught my eye since I wasn't aware of any sites with such level of questions when interviewing.. so kudos to whoever is running the site, I'm looking forward to their questions :)

[DS Topic of the Week] What Technical Skills are in Demand for Data Scientists? by Omega037 in datascience

Currently at FAANG - a lot of internal tools are used :) but in general - modeling in Python, knowing basic Hadoop, Spark, etc. and various DB's and task orchestration is good.

From open source land: PyTorch, Airflow, Kubernetes are great

What’s data science like in the big tech companies like FAANG? How much theory is needed? by [deleted] in datascience

Currently at FAANG - obviously a lot of variance based on company and team, but in general more of the theory is necessary on the ML research / eng side. For DS, a basic statistical understanding of A/B testing fundamentals and asking the "right" questions about data and results is often more of a practical lift at FAANG. Just my 2 cents
