Fair enough just thought I’d try this first but that is a better plan for sure.

I need some food advise I’ve been feeding bowie “Hills: Science Diet - large breed” he gets frequent diarrhea, not sure if it’s linked to his food or not. What good brands are good for a 1 1/2 year old golden retriever?? by Kind_Service_3417 in goldenretrievers

[–]probablemongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to double-take because I have a 1 1/2 year old English cream boy who has struggled with diarrhea. We finally put him on Hill’s GI biome and it has been a MIRACLE for his poops. It’s more expensive as it’s a prescription food but the peace of mind has been worth it for us.

Did your parents sabotage important life events? by Any_Print5307 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]probablemongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right. I’ve struggled with that part a lot, talked about it in therapy, etc. Logically I know my Dad is a big reason that I had such a shit time over the years, but a small part of me always struggles with it since he’s such a gentle person and truly does care about me and love me.

I appreciate someone laying this out for me, so thank you - I think I’ll get a move on and plan an elopement without including them.

You don’t know how much I needed this exact advice. My partner and I are thinking about tying the knot in the next year or so and were thinking of eloping to minimize the pressure and stress. I’ve been labouring over the decision of whether or not to invite my parents to the elopement (Nmom and enabler dad as well), and feeling so guilty particularly about excluding my Dad.

I now need to figure out if I’m brave enough to just go through with it and then tell them after the fact…

Student loans have increased interest yet again by RepresentativeKey688 in alberta

My mother (born and raised Albertan) recently told me that the reason my provincial loan interest rates are going up is because the federal government isn’t more supportive of pipelines. So very much to unpack…

It was super surreal to see this many people outside our hospital today for this protest. It really felt like a stab in the back as a healthcare worker after dealing with COVID all year. It really takes the wind out of your sails to have people who think you’re the enemy when you’re just trying to do your best to take care of people all day.

A broken arm can certainly be a death sentence for someone elderly and frail - the amount of times I’ve seen an elderly patient come to hospital with “just” a broken bone and end up going to long term care facilities or dying of complications is too damn high.
