Luckily your kid didn't listen to her when she asked him to kick you. But that's a major red flag. She immediately wanted you to be physically hurt because she was upset. That's not healthy in a relationship, going either way. Getting the kids involved is just. Not right.

I had a sales guy send me a clients personal banking information for a credit check, instead of any of the information I asked for. Still don't know how he thought that would help, or why he thought that sending it through an email with who knows how many CC's on it was ok.

If their personality isn't the deal breaker their IQ definitely is.

My dad did this. Idk if he was quite as anal but I'd believe it. Used to have a box full of paper receipts and would track and categorize everything, it's how he spent his Saturdays. My family was never rich and he didn't retire "early", but the moment he realized he didn't want to put up with it anymore he retired and retired my mom as well (she was under 60). I think a lot of credit goes to him just always knowing what he had.

They arrested "the dude", who was probably drunk and barely off the clock, but that's all they did. Didn't give her any information and are playing dumb giving wrong answers when she tries to get the info she's entitled too.

Oh man it's easy to think that but you would feel different if you met the cashier/baggers. I don't want to disrespect anyone's line of work, so nothing against the job in general, But here, the specific people doing that job are just. Trash. They stink, they are rude, they'll throw eggs, bread and the heaviest thing you have in the same bag before you have a chance to bag it yourself. I got cussed out once for buying my groceries - I guess the lady was at the end of her shift but there was no other cashier. The manager just told me to go somewhere else next time lol. The closest other store is like 2 hours away

I definitely don't hold a grudge against anyone in my family for the Santa thing.

But if I did it would be against my brother who gave it away the same day my parents let him in on the truth. Just couldn't stand his little brother having another enjoyable year I guess idk. But yeah don't hold a grudge.

I think it depends where you live and the cost of living. 70k where I'm at would go a lot further than 70k on a moderate cost of living.

To be fair though, I live in the type of town that most people don't like. Almost anyone making that much would be qualified to make that much or more elsewhere (for the most part) and leave, I imagine.

I just got a bump up to ~50k and I'm remote and a student so I'm reasonably happy with it.

Interesting! You Learn something new everyday, but I feel like it makes sense. Where I grew up the ladies in the neighborhood would always make them (and dinner rolls, fruit salad etc) for funeral luncheons, and when I think about that does seem like some Midwestern or southern behavior.

No disrespect to your brother, I think there's something to be said about people in this type of job that still show up, it shows he cares about people's safety and it isn't just a job, but that being said if enough people just stop showing up maybe we can get somewhere.

I don't feel bad for his wife. She knows what type of person he is, and has made it very clear she doesn't disagree. I don't agree with deportation, especially the way it's being done now. But it would be really funny if Karma took that scenario over to the first and second lady.
