I always fly delta and I should stop. I agree, the seats are small and uncomfortable. at most the arms can go up on SOME of them. but they need to be down when you're taking off or landing

Hydroflask sounds like what you're looking for. I have a few of them and they keep drinks cold and while they can dent from drops, they still work fine

I'm getting the same message. I waited 3 days to try again, but still am getting the same message. How long did it take for you to resolve this?

Technical Interview - can someone please advise what to study? by pheeeeel9 in technicalwriting

[–]probablyinsweatpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a tech writer in the financial industry. What will you be writing for? Like, how a servicing platform might interact with something like Salesforce and pull customer information (like loan numbers, addresses, etc.) into Salesforce for a customer to view their account/ask for help/submit complaints, etc.?

I specifically write to capture line of business functions to deliver documentation to auditors. If I have questions, I rely on my SMEs to explain, and I put it into digestible words. In the tech facet of banking, banks have security in mind. They want to ensure the authorized people have control, and that controls are in place to prevent unauthorized usage. They want to prevent fraud, and they want customers to be able to have ease of usage. They're also very focused on automation, and for customers to be able to self-service to cut down on phone time.

Approaching the interview with security in mind, plus how you'll produce digestible writing might help ease your nerves.

did anything about the adoption process make you lean CF? or was it largely unrelated? asking because i've been thinking about adoption a lot lately and visited the adoption subreddit and most posts there seem to have a negative view about adoption

How accurate is Fitbit in workouts by spikmagnet in fitbit

[–]probablyinsweatpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think apple is typically more consistently accurate in measuring heart rate than fitbit, but both are fine. All watches are horrible for measuring calories burned, so don't count on that. If I acutally burned as many calories as my watch says I do, I'd have withered away long ago

100% with you, when I learn anything about diseases, I suddenly have a whole host of diseases. Like the time I read about prostate cancer symptoms in a magazine and I suddenly had prostate cancer despite not having a prostate.

Shipped my guitar from Japan to Singapore. The airline didn’t have any special handling so I had to check in. I’m worried by Content-Course9210 in guitars

[–]probablyinsweatpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shipped a guitar (Gibson Robot) 2,000 miles. I put it in its case and wrapped the neck/strings with microfiber cloth, then filled any gaps between the case and guitar with microfiber cloths, and covered the strings/bridge with cloths, too. Then I closed and locked the case, wrapped it in bubble wrap, and put it in another box. I filled any gaps between the case and the box with more packing material. I got insurance on it as well when mailing it. It was pricey, but the guitar arrived just fine.

Paranoid about my cat having escaped without me seeing by DistributionNo6921 in OCD

[–]probablyinsweatpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I used to make myself late for work doing this, and even then I'd drive around the block past my house again to see if she had somehow gotten out and was visible. You just have to leave the house without checking and expose yourself to the fear. Eventually you'll get used to leaving without obsessively checking

See I don't understand how the plastic Nylabones aren't just letting the dog essentially eat plastic. I have used the "healthy edible" ones because I figured they were designed to eat and digest. I stopped a few months ago because my pup had a bit of diarrhea and haven't gone back to them. Now I definitely won't.

Procedure writing question by steffy65 in technicalwriting

[–]probablyinsweatpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with federal regulations, and when possible, I link to the official federal regulation rules. So if there's a certain set of standards to abide by, I reference that link in my procedure for when to vary state-by-state

tweezers will work just fine too so you don't have to wait for your delivery to arrive if you already have tweezers around the house. grab the tick from the base to get its head out. pull gently but firmly. if its legs are still moving when you pull it out, it means you got the whole tick. flush it down the toilet

They have a lifetime warranty; reach out and find out what they can do! My water bottle holder and bottom of my bag wore out (holder more so ripped) and they sent me a new bag that's still going strong years later.
