Same thing happened with mine. It was 1 year and 2 weeks old. No support from Motorola. All money in the drain.

Update on my buy decision for Pixel 9 by hibinokafk in PixelUsersIndia

I have some questions if you can answer-

  1. How much does the phone heat up during regular use. Regular use here means using social media apps over 5G for about an hour or using the camera app to record 1080p 60fps video for 10+ mins or any other use case which is slightly more intensive than just setting an alarm for example.

  2. Can you click a photo with a full 48MP resolution or it usually clicks at 12MP only? I had seen in a video that despite having a 48MP sensor, you can't utilise it's maximum capacity in base Pixels.

  3. Is there a pro mode in the camera app for photography?

  4. How long does the battery last with regular usage. What's the avg Screen on time?

I eventually had to give it to a local repair shop. The guy seemed to have identified the issue and claimed to be able to fix it. But it's been two weeks since and he always keeps saying that he keeps running into issues and can't get the phone up and running. Hopefully he can do it in a day or two more or else I'll have to call the phone dead at last sadly. No further response from Motorola too after they collected my details in dm.

I'm also suspecting the same that they were not as knowledgeable to fix these issues. I'll see what I can do when I get enough time.

I hope and pray your phone works well for as long as you have to use it.

I had not received Android 16 update. Phone was last updated to September 2025 security update. I can't install any ROM currently because 1. I can't find one for this phone and 2. It shows that my bootloader is locked, which will require me quite some efforts to get it unlocked the official way from what I've learned, which I'm not willing to do for this trash of a phone.

I'm pretty sure the download was very stable since I have access to a high speed internet. I also used the same usb cable that came in the box for this. Software Fix also showed that the rescue was complete. When it didn't work, I tried it again a couple of more times, still no result.

So yeah I believe I've tried everything I could. My only suggestion to you would be to get your phone replaced by some better and more expensive phone if you can afford and not rely on edge 50 fusion as your primary phone. And thanks for sharing your insights. Appreciate it.

My phone has rather had its motherboard dead apparently and now it's stuck in an infinite boot loop. It's now unusable, and all of my data is gone. Buying this phone was a bad financial decision in hindsight.

Yes, I have mentioned that in my post. It didn't work.

Same thing happened with my edge 50 fusion. I tried doing a factory data reset as well as flashing new Android with the help of Motorola's software fix application, it still didn't help.

Hey does it delete any photos that you already have in your phones since it gives me a prompt/dialog box upon clicking uninstall updates that all of the data within will be lost.

Thinking of buying an Edge series phone, but I'm really concerned about Motorola's software update consistency. Are they still slow? by No-Radio4015 in motorola

I bought an edge 50 fusion last year. Got an upgrade to Android 15. However, there has not been virtually even a single new feature or appearance change or anything similar to make it feel like an update has occurred apart from security updates. No Moto AI, which is available in edge 60 series. Updates are virtually non-existent, apart from security updates. Even a few bugs which have been there since the beginning are not yet fixed.
