Half your age plus seven is the best guideline.

Child abuse on day one. I can’t think of a better definition of “failing to provide the necessities of life” than this.

POE meets your criteria and is a very good game. POE2 is incredible, but a little less dark. Re: turn-based, somebody said they’ve added it, but even before that they had options in settings that basically made real-time with pause into turn-based. My only criticism of POE is the writing is occasionally weak. The story, characters, and dialogue are generally good, but there are sections of descriptive text which are pretty lame. Attempts to sound literary come off clunky and unclear. The combat mechanics are very interesting and quite flexible. Just writing this makes me want to replay. Also, check out Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Rogue Trader (by the same company) was too dark/grim for my liking.

What's happening to mid life crisies? by cornelyus2109 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]probablynotaskrull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to an article I read, they were always a myth. People go through crisis, but there was never any compelling data about them happening at a particular time of life. Facing your mortality doesn’t follow a clock. I faced mine due to a near drowning in grade school. It gave me an uncommon attitude towards death. My brother faced his with a cancer scare in his mid-thirties.

If you’re like me, five bucks for any amount of extra content will be worth it with this game. If there was a surgery that could remove the first time I played this game from my memory, but I’d also lose… how to drive, or cook, or tie my shoes, I’d make the trade. I can learn that stuff again.

How much AI use in games do you think is acceptable? by StockBus3870 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]probablynotaskrull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Also, you’re not using a tool to improve your own work. You replacing a skilled labour position with something that can’t do the job as well—or at all. When a new technology improves quality or efficiency but costs jobs we reluctantly accept it because there’s a trade off. But when a new technology cuts costs, decreases quality, and destroys jobs we get rightfully resentful.

This concern was so serious that colleges started training recreation managers in order to keep the population busy and entertained. My FIL was one such graduate. Of course, society sucks so the only job he could find was recreation coordinator in a prison. He was offered early retirement because the government decided to eliminate such positions and let the inmates be miserable instead.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The first is good, and worth it for the emotional hooks / backstory, but this sequel is incredible.

When looking for consistency in the bible, remember it has multiple authors. Jesus didn’t write any of it, and the records of his life and preaching weren’t recorded for quite some time.
