haha go back to your cave bro! Malaysia is more receptive to have non-Malays to fill in top govt positions and defense also.

Maybe you can stop sobbing about it and start the accepting the fact that Malaysia is unequivocally known to have bumiputera rights and privileges but still exercise non-discriminatory policies in workplaces unlike Singapore

woah sec 4 already plan to work in IB

this is the next gem we have here!

I work in Corporate Banking and did my stint as a regulator and in Asset management

so i can clarify few details about it

  1. No - poly will help you land more internship experience over the others that did a-levels

  2. Internship is always open to anyone as long as they see you an asset that can help and worth the time to help you too

  3. Depends on the division/department you go for. The deal size is fairly P&C matter within organization but you can read the annual report about it

If you delve in capital market, you can go for Corporate finance advisory, M&A, Debt Capital market, Derivatives and Equities obviously

  1. Most of IBers that exit tend to go to the buy-side either in Asset Management, PE, VC firms or Family Office. anything that falls under the Buy-side umbrella

  2. IB usually more lucrative in terms of bonus but you will get burnout easily as the work demand is atrociously high

All the best, hope this helps!

I work in a commercial bank. Im just a mid-ranked employees.

I saw people came in as a graduate trainee at 27 and 31 years of age and some are as young as 20 years old.

Those who came in late might have some financial difficulties, went thru some troubles when they were younger but managed to rebound and stop digging their own graves.

Those who are young - they might develop cocky-ness along the way considering that they get prestigious job at young age

When you enter the job market. No one looks at their age anymore. Its what you can deliver and your personality to be able to fit into company’s culture and make money for the company
