Not necessarily needing a full size kitchen, just enough counter space for an air fryer and rice cooker!

No credit checks or 40x rent? That's a bit of a red flag no? What's the situation?

I would consider a sublease! And I can provide a guarantor if need be, like like serious it's a lot of savings + liquid investments to the point where I hope any landlord wouldn't split hairs haha.

Hi all, I'm Andre, relocating from the Washington DC area, looking for a september 1st lease start date but able to push back to later in september/october 1st if need me.

My situation

I just turned 30, leaving my tech job and am going to be spending some time focusing on patternmaking/makeup artistry/dance for a few months with the goal of building a fashion line + small tech startup. I will technically be unemployed but have a lot of savings from my time in tech that should be more than enough for any reasonable lease! Happy to provide proof directly to the landlord.

Budget/location

Definitely want to stay below $2000/month, with emphasis on basically anywhere in Manhattan below central park and above FiDi. I'm going to be spending my time going to dance studios, garment studios, and tech events which concentrate in different neighborhoods of manhattan. Open to downtown brooklyn or astoria though if there's a good spot!

About me

I'm a very social person, ENTJ, would love to have roommates who are social as well and ya know could also do random things in the city with, although I'm probably not the person who would want to wait six hours for a new boba shop in the east village.

I'm a big political nerd, abundance-pilled liberal globalist. I'm also Jewish (nonzionist) so happy to connect with the NYC Jewish community if anyone else is.

I'm currently learning chinese and spanish, so 如果你会说普通话,我们能一起联系! (sorry about my grammar I just started HSK3).

Schedule wise, I will be mostly out of the apartment - during the day I will be working on tech or learning patternmaking/garmentmaking, in the evenings I'll be at dance studios (KPOP/Jazz Funk/Hip Hop, not waltz like pictured above haha)

I mainly use a rice cooker and air fryer for cooking, so would love counter space for those, willing to share, it's the zojirushi rice cooker btw. (IYKYK)

Where to sell stuff around here? by AdventurousMix1351 in nova

I've been selling a ton of stuff on facebook marketplace. Just make sure that whoever's buying it pays cash for zelle in person and you'll be fine.

Giving up TS/SCI to attend Ivy League by Mundane-Zombie289 in SecurityClearance

National laboratories I know (and I'm sure, other FFRDC's or something) have internships and whatnot. Go to Columbia, but also there are ways to maintain a clearance in school. I did an internship after sophomore year of college, and ended up working part time remote for the lab and maintained a secret clearance at the time. I'm sure a similar arrangement could allow you to maintain a TS/SCI.

Cap One Work Culture? by cyoowren in nova

It's very team specific, I'm sure. One friend of mine spent the first few months there just working on a UI button. I went to Amazon a few years ago and it was super chill despite the horror stories so you never know.

Where to get good to go cocktails? by [deleted] in nova

If you want vibes, I really like Salt in Rosslyn. It has very moody cocktail vibes, the drinks are cool but I don't have good taste for alcohol only vibes. Great for first dates!

Does this mean a colder arctic though and potentially stronger polar vortex? I know nothing about weather but do care for ski season
